God, this woman is incredible.

I knew that from the second I spotted her but hearing her scary as fuck angry voice echo down the tunnel and those three bastards shit their pants had me rock hard in seconds.

But right now, what has me ready to blow is watching her jealousy take over and I know I shouldn’t love it as much as I am but what can I say… I think I’ve found my new kink.

Isla scowls at Kate’s bloodied face. She’s probably debating if she should get another punch in and judging from the raging shadows around her, the rest of her group wouldn’t think twice but to join in after her.

‘That’s it.’ Isla announces, raising her machete.

‘Alright,’ I hug her back, gently encouraging her to lower her murder weapon. ‘Let’s not go getting too blood thirsty now. Although I do love seeing this side of you, baby.’

Someone makes an obnoxious deal over retching behind us and I get the point. I don’t let go of Isla, though. Not when she’s currently on a murderous rampage.

‘I’ve gone mad,’ Kate announces from the floor. ‘I’ve gone fucking mental.’

‘You’re abit late to the party with that one,’ Luna chimes. ‘Did you not get the memo when the apocalypse hit?’

‘Luna,’ Fauna warns.

‘It’s quite impressive really. Managing this long without losing ya marbles. Girlll, you could have been some coach for that shit in the old world—’

‘Luna!’

She drops her head, toeing the ground like a child. ‘I’m just saying.’

‘Tell me what happened,’ Isla demands.

‘His kind are monsters that’s what happened,’ a glob of blood splats at my feet. ‘Fucking monsters.’

‘Specifically…’

‘Well he…’ Kate takes in Isla and the rest of the girls, confusion painting her swollen face. ‘They…’ her gaze drops to Isla’s swollen belly — her very pregnant belly. ‘They’re breeding you.’

A few snorts and giggles come from the others but Isla doesn’t respond. Her jaw ticks as she works over what has just been said.

‘Do I look like some prized mare to you?’ Oh shit, she’s taken that very wrong. ‘I’m not some fucking cow that is nothing but a—’

‘I told her that’s what we were doing, baby.’ Interjecting to try and diffuse the situation. ‘I couldn’t let them think we are anything but evil. And being one big happy family doesn’t exactly paint that sort of picture.’

Isla turns to me, scowling.

‘I came to get some medical equipment to help with the baby's birth. To keep an eye on you and make sure you are safe, but I needed a story and that’s the only thing I could come up with…’

When I say it out loud and lay it on the table like that, it doesn’t sound the best, but I did what I did with the time I had. She can be pissed at me for it, I’d do it again if it kept her safe.

‘And then what? She said, “sure get in this chair and I’ll sort you right out”.’

I don’t miss the jab in her tone. Alright, she’s a little more pissed off than I’d like or want, but all threats have been eliminated, so all is well in that sense.

‘I drugged him.’

‘Youdruggedhim?’

Kate nods, chin held high as she stares at me. ‘What do you expect me to fucking say. Because I’m not someone who listens to someone say breeding camp and lets the men who uttered them walk away freely.’

‘She’s got a point,’ Fauna mutters to Isla.

And I watch as my girl processes this information.
