“We’re working on it,” Griffin assures him.

Atlas offers, “Let me know if you need help dealing with it.”

There’s a scraping of chairs, and I take that as my cue to leave.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

GRIFFIN

Sneaky little minx.

Raven thinks she blended in with the shadows, but you can’t hide something as precious as her. I almost didn’t see her, but I know every nook and cranny of this place. I could walk around blindfolded perfectly fine. So, when a shadow barely a shade darker than the hallway moved by the door, I knew it was her. Knox saw it too.

When Knox and I got a text from Benny, telling us that Atlas and Bas, the president and vice president of the Ferrymen, were here with a delivery, we dropped everything immediately and came running. I don’t care if Raven knows about our real business. She was going to find out eventually. And if she can’t handle it…well, that’s too damn bad because I wouldn’t let her leave if she tried.

I don’t care what she overhears. She’s stuck with us.

Raven can fight it all she wants, but we’re inevitable.

But her covert tricks are going to earn her a spanking—or ten. Just picturing her ass in the air and red from my hand has me getting hard. Now all I want is to bring her in here, bend her over the desk, and make her scream.

The scraping of chairs on the wood floor erases my fantasy.

“Actually...” Knox stops Atlas and Bas before they can leave our office. We exchange a look, communicating an idea. He opens a drawer of our desk and pulls out one of the confiscated bags, handing it over to Atlas. “Here. We haven’t been able to find out much about these. Every dealer we find is too afraid to talk to us.”

“We can make them talk,” Atlas offers.

“They’re not exactlyaroundanymore,” I admit.

Atlas smirks. “Ahh. I see. Well, we’ll hand these over to Einstein. If anyone can figure out what these are, it’s him.”

I nod, accepting their help, and watch them leave.

“Do you think they’ll be able to get us answers?” Knox nudges me with his elbow.

“What other choice do we have? The only information we’ve gotten so far is that the head honcho is someone they call ‘The Alienist,’ which isn’t much to go on.” I rub my eyes, tired of this whole thing. It’s like we’re trying to complete a puzzle, but half of the pieces are missing.

“Should we wait for the Ferrymen before we make our next move?”

Shoving my hands into my pockets, my face goes hard. “Absolutely not.”

“Then should we?—”

“Yep,” I interrupt.

“What about Raven? She heard the whole thing.”

I smirk. “She’ll have to deal with it.”

Raven’s changing everything. She’s already brought Knox out of his shell. I’m used to making sure he doesn’t get hurt or get himself into trouble. And I try to get him to loosen up every now and then, so he doesn’t forget to have fun.

But Raven does both for Knox without even trying. When Raven saw how Kaitlyn and her two stooges act toward us, shedidn’t hold back. And Raven makes him smile. I haven’t seen Knox like this…ever.

So, where does that leave me?

Raven has done more than just mix things up. She’s brought a peace to our lives that we haven’t known in so long.

Yeah, she’s hiding something, but who isn’t?
