“Good God, don’t remind me. That’s going to fuel my nightmares for the rest of my life.” Knox shivers.
Griffin stares at the wall, thinking over the puzzle before him. “She mentioned a madman. Just like Seth.”
I rub my eyes, warding off a headache. “She said that the madman is watching me sleep. And something about a man coming and going, making a child cry.”
“The child could be Noah,” Knox theorizes.
“That’s my thought as well,” Griffin affirms. “And the madman has to be Lewis.”
“I don’t know.” I purse my lips. “I mean, Lewis Whitlock is definitely mad. Only a madman could do the things he does to helpless people.”
“I agree with that,” Knox chimes.
“If he is the madman, then taking care of Lewis would be killing two birds with one stone,” Griffin reasons.
I sit up a little straighter. “I’d call that a win.”
“We could—” Knox starts, but Noah comes flying into the bedroom.
Literally. He has his arms spread out at his sides, tilting them back and forth, as he makes zooming noises with his mouth. Noah crashes into Griffin, creating the sound of an explosion.
Griffin laughs. “Hey, little man! What’s up?”
Noah pops up. “Will you and Knox play with me?”
Knox stands, taking Noah by the hand and leading him out of the room. “Of course, bud.”
“Griffin! Are you coming?” Noah shouts.
“Yes!” Griffin replies, smirking at me. He gets to his feet, and hands me my coffee and pastry. “Enjoy your breakfast, Sunshine. Come downstairs after you’ve eaten and relaxed a bit.”
He presses his lips to my forehead and follows after Noah and Knox.
A smile of affection curves my mouth as I bring the coffee to my lips, and giddiness spreads through me.
These men are going to spoil me rotten.
CHAPTER FIFTY
RAVEN
The last few days have been peaceful. After Noah’s checkup at the urgent care in town, we’ve basically been living at Griffin and Knox’s house. And the fact that my house is still a crime scene means that Noah and I have nowhere else to go.
Griffin and Knox’s home is cozier than I thought it’d be, and they have fully adopted the southern hospitality charm. Noah became bored, so they bought him a new train set and a football. We ran out of clean clothes after day one, so they purchased a whole new wardrobe for Noah but only a few items for me. I think that has something to do with their inner neanderthal coming out when they see me dressed in their clothes.
The first time I walked out of Griffin’s room in one of his shirts, he grunted something to Knox about playing with Noah and hauled me back into his room. He covered my mouth with his hand as he gave me screaming orgasm after screaming orgasm.
Later, I decided to test the theory that their sex drive was correlated to the wearing of their clothes. I walked out of Knox’s room with one of his shirts on and was rewarded with more orgasms.
My vagina needed a break, so today I’m wearing my new clothing. A comfy tee and workout shorts.
Noah has been with Griffin in the backyard, tossing the football as I laze about on the couch withChasing Goldieby Holly Roberds, another gift from the guys. I don’t know where they got the book recommendation, and I’m not sure I want to know.
I’m about halfway through the novel when Griffin comes back inside with Noah in tow. “Get your shoes on, we need to go,” Griffin demands.
Closing my book, I sit up. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see.” He’s being vague on purpose.
