We creep over to the staircase, positioning ourselves on either side of it in the shadows. And just like I predicted, Raven slips from her perch on the stool and shoots for the stairs. When her foot touches the bottom step, Griffin and I make ourselves known. Griffin grabs Raven from behind, covering her mouth with his hand, and I step ahead to open the door at the top.Raven struggles, yelling behind Griffin’s restraint and kicking her feet out. Her thrashing is meant to throw Griffin off balance, but it doesn’t work. He’s too solid.
Once we’re out, I help Griffin get Raven into the office. Griffin slams the door shut with his back, not breaking his hold on Raven. I stand in front of them, deciding how to keep Raven from hurting herself.
“Let go of me,” Raven grunts as she refuses to give up the fight.
Her shoe grazes the outside of my thigh, and her hand whacks me in the head. Griffin chuckles when I duck out of the path of Raven’s other hand.
“That’s enough,” I growl.
Griffin uses a leg to wrap around Raven’s and then the other. I grab Raven’s wrists and switch my grip to one hand. Lifting her wrists above her head, I push them against the door. My body leans into her, securing her hips between mine and Griffin’s to prevent her from throwing her weight around.
Raven’s heavy breathing pushes her breasts into my chest. My free hand twitches, needing to feel the weight of her soft globes in my hand again. I watch as her nipples pebble.
“Mind telling us what had you wandering out to the barn, Sunshine?” Griffin queries.
Raven raises her chin. “I needed help in the bar, and both of you disappeared. I’m sure Benny and Camden are swamped now. How about you put me down and we can all go pitch in out there?”
“Nice try,” I snort. We let go, then she’ll run, and we’ll never see her again. That’s not happening. That’sneverhappening.
Raven still tries to convince us. “If we don’t, you’ll probably lose customers.”
Griffin smiles as if she’s telling a joke, which she might as well be. “People come for the atmosphere, not the service. And we’re the only bar in town. We basically have a monopoly.”
Raven rolls her eyes.
I raise my brows to emphasize my demand. “Now, tell us why you ran. Don’t bother denying anything.”
Her fingers flex in my grasp. “I thought it was just weed.”
Understanding dawns on Griffin’s face. “Ahh. I see.”
“Well, this is insulting,” I comment.
“Offending you is the least of my worries,” Raven snarks.
Time to set the record straight. “You were right. We do sell weed, but…”
“We don’t sell pills,” Griffin corrects her.
Raven remains unconvinced. “Uh-huh. Sure.”
“This,” I pull the plastic bag from my pocket that Griffin handed me earlier at the barn, “is what we found on the dealer, who is the man you saw tied up in the barn. Dealers selling these pills have been popping up all over the area.”
I can see the hesitation in Raven’s eyes. She’s mad and doesn’t want to believe us, but she does.
Griffin and I exchange a grin, and Raven eyes us suspiciously.
“Don’t you dare,” Raven warns.
But we don’t listen.
Griffin’s hands glide up Raven’s stomach and cup her tits. Raven squirms, rolling her lips in to trap her moan inside.
I smile at Raven mischievously, earning me a glare. I undo her denim shorts and slip my hand inside but stop just before I reach the apex of her thighs. “Say it again. Tell us how you don’t want this.”
Raven groans in frustration, gyrating her hips to push my hand lower. But I keep my hand where it is, infuriating her even more.
As Griffin massages her globes, I push Raven’s shorts and lacy thong down her legs, knocking off her shoes as well. Rising back to my feet, I trace my fingers up her luscious legs, causing a shiver to roll through her.
