Joshua dribbled the ball, slowed down and waited for his teammates to catch up. He faked a pass, stepped up to the three-point perimeter, and shot the ball.

It arced through the air, a perfect swish right as time expired.

The way the students around us reacted, you would’ve thought we had won the national championship. Beer flew in the air and popcorn rained down. I couldn’t hear anything, but Brock and Jace were both jumping up and down and grinning widely.

I celebrated with them, throwing my hands in the air like I was a student again.

“Now what?” Brock asked. “My bar’s only two blocks away if we want free drinks.”

“Here’s a counter offer,” I said, glancing between them. “I have beer back at my place. Let’s go home to celebrate the win. All three of us.”

The two of them shared a glance, then smiled.

“I like that idea,” Jace said.

We snaked our way through the crowd to leave the game, putting a little space between our bodies. The crowd was thick and nobody would see us… but we didn’t want to take the chance on the way out.

After making sure Lila was good to drive, I caught a ride with Brock. We drove in awkward silence for a few minutes before I couldn’t stand it anymore.

“So. Do you think you’re up for this?”

“Why wouldn’t I be?” he shot back.

“Woah, relax. I’m not trying to challenge you. Just getting on the same page before… stuff happens.”

He glanced over at me. “Same page about what?”

“I don’t know. Just… having a threesome with another guy. It could be weird.”

“Have you ever done it?” Brock asked.

“Nope. But I’ve always kind of wanted to.”

He thought about it for a moment, then nodded. “Let’s set a few ground rules.”

It was everything you might expect. No touching dicks. Minimal eye-contact. Try to respect each other’s space while we were sharing Lila.

Sharing Lila.

The thought thrilled me in an unexpected way. I hoped that Lila was just as excited. She seemed to have shed a lot of her inhibitions today, and the alcohol was only partly to blame. I was certain it was the prospect of a threesome that had her so bold at the basketball game.

I wondered if that boldness would continue at her place.

Lila had beers waiting for us as soon as we walked in the door. “What a game. I can’t believe we beat Tennessee!”

“Everyone’s partying on campus,” Brock said, scrolling on his phone. “It’s like we won a war or something.”

“Do you want to go back to campus to join the celebrations?” Lila asked.

“Tempting, but nah. I went to a single frat party at the beginning of this semester and hated it.”

“Same,” I added. “It’s not much fun when you’re almost a decade older than everyone else.”

“Good answer.” Lila lifted her bottle, took a slow sip, and gave us a smile so dangerous it rearranged my pulse. “We can have our own celebration here. Adults only.”
