Jace placed both hands on my armrests and gripped the chair tightly. “Fuck the rules.”
He yanked the chair closer and kissed me again.

Lila
This time, the kiss was like he’d been studying for this, waiting for the moment the test finally began.
His hands framed my face, warm and steady, and I made a small sound I immediately regretted. Because it only made him kiss me harder.
“Jace,” I gasped into his mouth.
“Professor.”
Hearing my title on his hungry lips thrilled me in a way that completely banished whatever protests I had left inside me.
In that moment, I would throw everything away for him.
I clutched the fabric of his shirt, frustration and desire twisting together. “Someone could walk in.”
“They won’t.”
“You have no way of knowing that.”
“I locked the door.”
My heartbeat tripped. “What? When?”
“I’m deft with my fingers,” he said, kissing the line of my jaw. “Want to see how deft?”
His fingers slid down my hip, and I shoved him back, albeit ineffectively. “That’s not fair.”
“Things stopped being fair when you hacked my phone.” His thumb brushed against my lip. “I’m done holding back.Professor.”
Before I could reply, he crushed his lips against mine again, tongue flicking out with need. I opened my mouth to let him in, and there was another tiny little tongue-flick before he pulled back once more.
“Say no, Lila. Right now. If you say no, I’ll walk out that door without another word.”
I should’ve. I knew that logically. But I didn’t have any more resistance in me, not with the way my entire body was on fire with desire.
His eyes darkened, and he said, “That’s what I thought.”
He lifted me onto the desk like I was a stack of textbooks, showing me just howstronghe was. Then his mouth claimed mine again, teeth grazing my bottom lip, teasing. I moaned into the kiss, breath catching as his hands braced against the desk beside me, pinning me with the heat of him. The kiss was deeper this time, urgent and slick, tongues tangling in a desperate rhythm that left me dizzy. It was as if the argument between us had cracked something open, letting all the tension spill out at once.
“Oh, God, Jace…” I whispered against his lips.
His hands slid up the back of my thighs, and I felt my breath catch all over again, heat racing through me so fast I almost forgot how wrong this was.
Almost.
“This is a terrible idea,” I said, though it came out sounding more like a plea than a warning.
“Then tell me to stop.”
I let out a shaky exhale. “I don’t want you to stop.”
He smiled. It was slow, confident, devastating. “Good.”
