Page 34 of Longing For Ever

We ate dinner at the table with Kaylie asking one hundred and one questions about everything under the sun. She started asking Everly questions about us and what we will do now that we’re married. Like, if she thought we would always live in this house or if we would get a new one now that we’re a family. Or if we have babies, how many did we think we would have. She wanted to know if she would have to share her bedroom or if the baby could sleep on the couch.

It was fucking adorable. But the best part was watching Everly as her cheeks turned red and her eyes grew wide with each passing question. She didn’t know how to answer because we’d never talked about our future together. I always had a plan to make Ever my wife and to raise a family, but I don’t think Ever thought it was possible.

It wasn’t just possible. It wasinevitable.

“Mason, will you make sure Ever has a little boy? I don’t want to share my clothes or my babies.” I choke on my beer and Ever drops her head. Her shoulders are shaking with laughter.

“I’ll see what I can do, Squirt.” I wink. Ever’s eyes snap to mine and she glares at me over her plate.

“Kaylie, why don’t you put your plate in the sink and go pick out our movie for the night?” The kid jumps up from the table and does as her sister asks.

“I’m sorry about that. I tried to explain to her we weren’t going to have kids and that you may not stay with us for too long, but I don’t think she understood.”

“Why wouldn’t I stay, Ever? You’re my wife.” Ever sighs, rolling her eyes. She grabs her plate and glass and carries them into the kitchen, placing them in the sink.

“Not really.”

“Yes, really.” I growl, picking up my plate and silverware, and following her. When I reach the sink, I place my things inside, then cage Everly with my arms. “I wasn’t kidding when I took those vows. I wasn’t playing when I told everyone at the clubhouse that you’re my ol’ lady. And I sure as hell am not kidding when I tell you how badly I can’t wait to claim all of you as mine.” I push my cock into her backside, letting her feel how hard I am for her behind the confines of my jeans.

Ever gasps. I rub my nose up the side of her neck, inhaling her scent. My hand finds its way to her belly, slowly moving up to caress her breast. Ever’s head falls back against my chest, granting me more access. Her ass pushes back against me, causing me to moan as I continue kissing along her neck.

“I found the movie!” Kaylie squeals and the two of us fly apart. Everly’s pupils are dilated, her breathing has become rapid, and damn if I don’t kick myself for not thinking to set up babysitting for the night.

Kaylie comes around the counter, waving a movie in the air. “Come on, Sissy. You too, Mason. I got the blankets, and I put Winston in his pajamas too. See.” She pushes her bear in the air for us to see. He’s wearing a onesie with ice cream cones all over it like hers.

Ever gets comfortable on the couch with Kaylie between her legs while I get the movie started. It takes less than thirty minutes, and the kid is passed out.

“I need to put her in her bed,” Ever whispers, trying to scoot Kaylie down enough to grab her under her arms. I cut her off and shift Kaylie over, motioning for Ever to climb out from under her.

“Let her stay here.” I place Winston under her arm and tuck the blanket tightly around Kaylie’s body the way I know she likes it.

“Um, but where will you sleep if she’s on the couch?”

I take a step forward, closing the space between us. Ever takes a step back, and I smile. “I’m sleeping in the bed with my wife.” Ever shakes her head. I nod mine. “Yes, Ever. Although, if I’m honest, we won’t be doing much sleeping tonight. I’ve waited too fucking long to have you writhing underneath me. I’m going to need all night to savor every inch of you.”

“Mason, maybe we should …” She backs all the way up and plants her hands firmly against the wall. I pin her in place, my hips against hers, my arms raised on either side of her head. My forehead against hers.

“What are you so afraid of, Ever? It’s just me and you. It’s always been me and you.” I lean in, kissing the corner of her mouth. Her breathing picks up. Her eyes are hooded. She drops her chin.

“I’m scared, Mason.” That gives me pause. With two fingers I gently lift her chin, searching her eyes that are now glassy.

“Baby? What are you afraid of? Me?” Ever shakes her head. “Then what?”

“This isn’t real. You and me. This isn’t real. You only married me because I panicked and now …”

“And now, it’s real. It was always real, Ever,” I correct her crazy thinking. “I’ve been planning on marrying you since wegraduated high school. If you hadn’t taken off, we would’ve been married before I left for boot camp all those years ago. You were it for me, baby. You were always it.”

A single tear slips down her face, and I wipe it away with my thumb. “When you said you loved me today at the clubhouse, did you mean it?”

Her brow furrows. “Of course I did. I wouldn’t throw those words around.”

My lips crash down on hers hard. Cradling her face in both my hands, I deepen the kiss, holding her to me. Ever moans. She’s soft and sweet. Kissing her, tasting her mouth sets off a hunger that shakes me to my core.

“I need you, baby. All of you.” Ever nods her head. I lift her up by her ass. Her legs wrap around me, but I don’t dare break the kiss. I walk us down the hall to her room and close the door with my foot, then lower her down onto the bed.

Her legs drop away, opening her up and making more room for me. Pushing myself up on my hands, I lean over her, watching Ever’s eyes as they swim with her desire for me. “I love you, Ever. I need you to know that. To believe me when I say it. This is as real as it gets, Sprite.”

She leans up on her elbows, pulling me down into another hard kiss. “Prove it.”
