“How could you be afraid?” Ollie asks. “Clearly, he would have stripped you down to nothing and had fun.”
“Exactly.”
Winnie and Ollie exchange glances. “Why is that a bad thing?” Winnie asks. “I know the moment I get home, Pacey will do the same thing, and I can’t wait.”
“Same with Silas,” Ollie says.
I stir my fork around my salad and say, “We haven’t really talked about what has happened between us. One moment, we were friends and I wasn’t thinking about him in that way at all, and then the next he’s telling me that I’m a good girl right before he spanks me.”
“Ooo, he spanks you?” Ollie asks. “That is one of my favorite things. Sometimes, Silas will just insert himself from behind and spank me until I come. He gets off so hard from that.”
Wow . . . yeah, I guess I’d expect that from Silas.
“But,” Ollie adds, “I see where you’re coming from. Maybe you need to have a conversation with him.”
“And say what?” I ask. “Oh hey, Halsey, I’ve noticed that you like sticking your penis inside me lately. Want to have a conversation as to why?”
“I think it’s a great opening line,” Winnie says with a smile. “But also, Halsey seems like the type of guy who’d slow down if you asked him to.”
“But I don’t want him to slow down.”
“Then what do you want?” Ollie asks.
“That’s the thing, I don’t know. I’ve never been more confused, and I’m using you two to avoid the situation.”
Winnie chuckles. “Well, I do love being a decoy, so why don’t we focus on something else.”
“Great idea,” Ollie says. “Tell us . . . is Halsey pierced like Silas?”
I give her some serious side-eye. “Not helping.”
She laughs. “Sorry. How about this . . . I heard you might be taking a new job with a certain company.”
“What?” Winnie asks. “You’re leaving the Agitators?”
Shit, how could I forget about Ollie working for The Jock Report?
“Remember when I said this was all in the vault? Well, I mean it. I haven’t told Penny yet. I’m just trying to find the right way to inform her.”
“Yeah, she’s going to be upset. Wait.” Winnie looks up. “Are you moving?”
I shake my head. “No, I don’t want to, and Huxley said I could work remotely.”
“They really are the best,” Ollie says. “I report more closely with Ryot Bisley than the Cane brothers, but they are seriouslyamazing. There’s a reason they’re one of the top corporations to work for.”
“I’m really excited about it, but I haven’t told anyone besides my boss.”
“Not even Halsey?” Winnie asks.
“Remember, they don’t talk,” Ollie says with a wink.
“Do you know when you’re going to tell everyone?”
“Soon. Penny is the one I have to break the news to first. I think I might go to her place for dinner when the boys are out of town next.”
“And Halsey . . .” Ollie asks.
“That I don’t know.”
