“Rocky in what way?”
I don’t want to worry Katla, not with everything she has on her plate, so I keep it simple. “Just little tiffs with Keller. I think the stress of the wedding is getting to us. But nothing that will rock the boat. Nothing to worry about. Just tired is all.”
“Ah, I understand.” Katla pats my leg. “Theo and I went through the same roller coaster when we were getting married. There are a lot of stressors that come with a wedding. Add the pressure of getting married in front of the public and it escalates emotions. It will all settle down when you finally have your special day and then of course your honeymoon. Any idea where you might want to go?”
“Oh, I guess I haven’t thought about that.”
“Do you know where you should go?” Katla says, growing excited. “Theo owns an island off the coast of Morocco. It’s incredibly secluded, and few know about it. There’s a vacation home he had built many years ago. A small cottage that offers the prettiest of views, an ocean so blue you’ll never want to leave. We haven’t been in years, but it would be the perfect getaway for you two.”
“Sounds amazing,” I say. “I’ll talk to Keller about it.”
“Knowing him, he’s already thought about going there. He’s been once before, Theo forced him to take a vacation and sent him down there. It’s where he earned his pilot’s license.”
I pause and turn more toward Katla. “Excuse my shock, but Keller has his pilot’s license?”
“You didn’t know that?” she asks. “Yes, he wanted to learn in case he ever needed it. He’s also an expert in combat battle, a certified marksman, and can drive any type of boat you put in front of him. He was adamant about learning all the attributes of survival and protection.”
“Huh.” I glance away, feeling foolish that I didn’t know that about him. What else don’t I know? Have I truly not taken the time to dive in deep with Keller? What does he not know about me? I worry my lip. “Do you think we’re moving too quickly? Like, do you think I should get to know Keller more before we get married? I mean, I should have known that about him, but I didn’t. I feel sort of embarrassed.”
“Nothing to be embarrassed about,” Katla reassures me. “I didn’t know plenty of things about Theo until we were married. And even at that, I didn’t find out until a few years down the road. That’s the fun part of being married. You spend your life together, learning about one another. No married couple on this planet knows everything about each other before they get married. And you don’t need to. You need to know the important things, and you and Keller already have that.”
“Yeah, I suppose so.” I let out a large sigh. “A pilot . . . God, that’s really hot.”
Katla laughs. “I’m sure just another thing to add to your list.”
She’s right about that.

Lilly:Where are you?
Keller:With the doctor.
Lilly:Why? Are you okay?
Keller:Yes, it’s for my basic checkup.
Lilly:Oh, duh. Did he feel your balls?
Keller:Yes.
Lilly:Jealous. Did you cough real good for him?
Keller:Why are you like this?
Lilly:Can’t help it. What are you doing now?
Keller:Staring at a cup.
Lilly:That’s weird, what kind of a cup?
Keller:A cup I have to jack off into.
Lilly:OMG! Are you serious? Why?
Keller:Part of making sure I can fulfill my duties as the man who needs to impregnate you.
Lilly:Stop, that’s not true.
