Chapter 34

Lincoln's POV

There's a pinging noise. It's somewhere in the distance mingled with the sound of songbirds ushering the morning.

Groaning, I swivel my head to face the left towards my room door, sleep still caping my consciousness.

Sounds like I got a text, but I don't know where my phone is. It's not on the nightstand.

Ugh.

Did I leave it in the living room or something?

Sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the hallway. The sound is so annoying that I know I'm going to have to get up to put a stop to it.

Yawning, I commit to pushing my upper body off the bed, eyes still closed and heavy with slumber.

Swinging my left leg over the edge of the bed, the rest of my body follows. Stepping out into the hallway, I see a piece of paperthat's cut out into a triangle, or in the shape of an arrow. There's something on it.

My eye squint as I tried to read what it says.

Go to my guest room

I smile.

Still only clad in my boxers, I commit to the hunt.

I don't know where my phone is though. Still, there's a ping.

Where's it coming from?

I have to pee so bad.

Making the short pit stop to relieve myself first, I then follow the instructions and head to the guest room.

Gabby's room.

Her bed is made, and she's nowhere to be found. There's another ping. It sounds like it's coming from somewhere else.

Where the hell?

On her bed, I notice a blue, square-shaped piece of paper.

Picking it up puts an instant smile on my face.

Another message.

Good morning, handsome. You're getting closer. So close.

I'm so confused right now.

Squinting, there's smaller font with a message that reads:

Look underneath the bed

So, I kneel down where I find another note.
