Which is honestly good for me. Because it means that there are still cracks and fissures forming in this precious little husk of a relationship they think they both still have. Honestly, he deserves this; the mayhem that he's causing his own heart. Maybe it's the closure that he needs to finally be rid of Gabby but there's no way he's going to be able to do that if she's still living here.

When I get into work, Fabian is talking with another co-worker. He looks happy but he also looks exhausted.

“You look hungover as shit,” I smile at him.

“Yeah I had a long night. Rather morning.”

Interesting. “What do you mean?” I pry.

Fabian just gives me a coy smile. Then he looks around. “Have you seen Gabby?”

Why is he asking me about… wait a minute.

“Why do you ask?” I reply sweetly.

“Figured she'd be here. Her shift starts at 7:00 too, doesn't it?”

“Yeah but I mean it's only 6… let me see.” I look at my watch. “It's 6:40. Why are you so anxious? Is there a message you want me to deliver?”

“Are you good friends with her?” he asks dubiously.

“I mean I saw her this morning. So there's no reason she shouldn't be here.”

“What do you mean you saw her this morning?”

My instinct is telling me that this is an opportunity branching out.

“She was at Lincoln's house.”

“Yeah I know she stays there but…”

“No, what I mean is…” I break off for dramatic effect, stepping closer to him, making sure he can see my cleavage. He doesn't bite. Not yet anyway.

“I went to go… see Lincoln and… she and Lincoln werealreadyawake.”

“Okay?” Fabian murmurs like he's not getting it.

“They wereveryawake. Veryloud. If you know what I mean.”

My eyes study him and there's something right there that flashes in his face, just a glimpse. Disappointment. Hurt.

“What do you mean? Are they intimate with each other?”

“Ha! Did you not know that? They're more than intimate. He was fucking the shit out of her,” I emphasize quietly, leaning into him.

His eyes flutter for a moment before he looks away discouraged. “Aw… are you guys dating or something?”

“No. We're just friends,” he says with a tight smile, trying to hide his emotions.

“You look very disappointed forjust being friends.”

“I am a little bit disappointed. She told me that… I don't know.”

“She told you what?”

“That she was moving on from him.”

“Well honey she lied to you. Because the screaming that she was doing this morning. The screaming thatLincolnwas doing. Yeah those two are definitely… let's just say there's no moving on. As long as they're both living in that house together that's just something that you're going to have to come to expect. I really hope you weren't catching feelings for her or anything cuz that would be kind of pathetic,” I chortle as I press a hand to his shoulder encouragingly.
