I move up and down over his cock while Alessio grips the headboard. I take it as a sign he’s restraining himself from taking over the sex because he wants to be fucked.

I rest my hands on his chest and start bouncing over his cock. Alessio’s grip on headboard tightens, his expression somewhere between bliss and contentment, and when I think he might come, it turns me on so much that I start to bounce even faster, chasing my orgasm. It comes in a rush that makes me shiver.

Under Alessio’s strong hands, the iron headboard bends. I remember how he broke the headboard at the hotel.

He stills, his muscles go taut, and he ejaculates so hard, he shows me his teeth as if he wants to bite me.

I fall on him, leaving him inside me, and tuck my nose into the crook of his neck so I can inhale the scent of him.

Alessio wraps his arms around me and kisses my temple. “I like waking up with you, Mrs. Angelini.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah, I think I’ll do it more often.”

“I think you should.”

“Guys,” Leo calls from the other side of the door.

Alessio makes a face that tells me he doesn’t want to answer.

Leo knocks softly. “Guys?”

I open my mouth to answer him, but Alessio shakes his head.

“Guys!” Leo shouts again and bangs on the door.

I giggle when Alessio rolls his eyes.

“He’s persistent,” I say. Wonder who he got that from?

Leo bangs on the door again. “Uncle!”

“What?” Alessio barks, and I start to laugh because he sounds so irate. Here’s the guy who almost never takes a break, and when he tries, the world isn’t ready for him to take a break.

“Aunt Val said to tell you that if you want to pick the venue for your wedding to come down in ten minutes because all the best venues are getting booked fast.”

Alessio groans. “I’m not doing this today.”

I sit up. “See? This is why you married me. I’ll tour the venues, taste good food, and make sure the pleasures of life are fully enjoyed.”

Alessio folds his hands behind his head. “Then by all means, Lake Angelini, go forth and conquer your day. I’m going to rest.”

Lake

When I went downstairs that morning, Alessio stayed in bed and rested for the entire day. Or at least he tried to. After lunchtime, when it became clear Alessio wasn’t coming down to eat with us, I took a tray of food up to him. He made me put on the leg bindings and perch on the bed the way a mermaid would on a rock while I fed him. In the nude.

By dinnertime, everyone had checked on his well-being at least twice, causing him to lock the bedroom door. He emerged the next day, announcing to the family that he was canceling nearly every in-person business meeting or conference they had set up for the next year. He told Val to overhaul his entire schedule in order to incorporate entire weeks spent exclusively with his wife.

That’s my man.

By dinnertime that day, he’d planned three honeymoons, two of which are in places on my bucket list. I’d been married for less than twenty-four hours and was already feeling like a spoiled wife.

As for the venue for the wedding reception, I picked the local hotel on the Isola di Monteverro. Alessio and I met there, and I couldn’t think of another place on earth where people would work harder to ensure Alessio’s wedding was an absolute success.

I also picked the new year as the date, and in two weeks’ time, our island was decorated in ways that evoked a theme of starting something exciting, better, and new.
