“Awesome,” Harper says. “I’m kind of full now, though. What channels does that TV get?”

He motions to the big flat screen on the wall across from the couch.

“Uh, I’ve never switched it on,” I admit. “You can put it on if you like. I could use a shower.”

I get up and start helping Jay to clear the plates from the table while Harper scoops the leftovers onto a single plate and picks it up. He takes it over to the coffee table and sets it down there.

“I can do the dishes,” Jay tells me. “Go take your shower.”

“Are you sure?” I ask.

It’s just so strange that he doesn’t seem to mind.

But I guess that’s because I lived in a place where men didn’t do any of the menial tasks.

The guards and visitors at Ivan Hamilton’s house were given whatever food and drink they asked for, and the house staff cleaned up after them, too.

“I’m sure. I’ll have these done in a few minutes. Take your time.”

It’s so sweet, I can’t help but smile. “Thanks.”

I pass Harper as he gets the huge TV to switch on.

It’s pretty loud but I guess it makes more sense to use it if we’re going to watch something as a group. I doubt either of them would be good with my tiny black and white when we have a much bigger screen we can use.

Really, I shouldn’t still be using it, either.

I step into the bedroom and go straight to my closet to look out something to wear.

I find some nice underwear and soft blue sweater, and I put them on top of the bed sheets, along with yesterday’s jeans picked off the floor.

It smells of Harper’s sweet spice in the room, and I know that’s because the bed is becoming his nest. I like the thought of that scent being imbedded into my clothes.

It makes me glad the stuff in the bathroom is all unscented.

The products were made specifically with Omegas in mind, and that works out pretty well for me now. I thought scented shampoo and deodorant would be some of the first things I would buy with my first pay check, but those items might as well not exist now.

I don’t want to have some artificial scent on my body or in my hair.

Nothing could smell better than Harper’s natural perfume.

If I could bathe in it, I would.

I go into the bathroom and start getting ready for the relaxing day ahead.

I might not have too many days off work to just spend time with my mates like this, so I fully intend to make this most of this one.

Chapter One Hundred-Fourteen

Shayne

The fence panels are heavy as hell, and the further we get from the main gates, into the forest area at the front, road-facing side of the property, the harder it gets to drag another pile of the fucking things along to the next section. Thank Owen for the thick gloves he gave us but I’m still wearing more bruises and cuts under my clothes than I’d like to admit to.

“Are we seriously still only on the first section?” I ask Falcon.

He laughs as we drop the panel into its slots within the trench. Half of yesterday was spent measuring and placing those foundation parts, so I’m glad the posts fit, but this work is completely mind-numbing, as much as it’s also physically taxing.

“You’re doing great,” he tells me, as I hold the edge of the new metal panel.
