Katie’s excited energy rubbed off on me, a little, I admit.

My smile felt unsinkable, at least until we got to Lana’s office door.

Knowing Falcon was already in there, without us, I couldn’t help but worry.

Lana doesn’t seem to like him very much.

I’m not sure he’s redeemed himself in her eyes after he lied to get into the academy.

I bite my lip, wondering what happens if Lana decides she can’t get over that slip up.

“Hey, are you okay?” Shayne asks, his voice hushed.

“Uh, yeah,” I manage, raising my hand to knock on the door.

It opens before my hand can make contact with the wood.

The head of academy security gives me a wry smile before he steps back and gestures silently to us to enter the room.

I step inside first, letting go of Shayne’s hand and folding my arms as I move toward where Falcon’s sitting on the couch nearest the door to the room.

Lana’s sitting across from him, her expression hard to read.

Falcon moves on the couch, and I slip into the seat beside him.

He takes my hand in his.

The door closes and I turn to see Shayne stop next to me.

The couch is a bit on the small side for all three of us, I guess.

“What did we miss?” Shayne asks.

“Well, your lead Alpha wants to move your pack into Goldcrest. He proposed working alongside our security team. Obviously, Robin has decided you’re her mates. And I think you’re all caught up.” Lana gives us a wry smile.

I realize I’m holding my breath.

Inhaling takes a concentrated effort.

“I was waiting to hear Lana’s response to the proposal,” Falcon adds, “when you arrived.”

Lana nods slowly. “That’s right. I was considering it.”

“And?” Shayne prompts, when she pauses.

She looks up at him, then back at Falcon. “I’d like to ask Robin what she thinks, first.”

“Me?” I ask, frowning.

“Yes, you,” Lana answers. “Clearly, you’ve decided these men are your mates. Do you want them to live here with you?”

“Um, yes. I do. Of course, I do.”

“Well, then, I guess we’ll have to find you a bigger suite.”

I blink at her. “Really?”

“I won’t say I’m not surprised by how fast this happened,” she admits. “But, you seem sure about it. And you know you can come to me with anything, and I mean, anything, that you’re ever unsure about, right?”
