“We’re going to do what Shadow suggested and propose working here with Owen’s team.”
“That makes sense.”
He looks at me for another second before nodding.
It’s what I want, and it would make everything so easy.
But I can’t help wondering if it’s what he wants.
“First things first,” Shayne interjects. “We need to inform Robin’s former guardian that she’s part of our pack now. Everything else can be discussed later.”
Clearly, Shayne can tell Falcon’s not completely on board with his brother’s plan.
Slowing that part down seems fair. I wouldn’t want them to make such a huge change if they’re not ready for it. Accepting each other as mates is one thing. Deciding on where our futures lie is a completely different challenge.
Not to mention, they have two pack members I haven’t even met.
Who knows what they’ll think of all of this?
“I’m gonna go get ready for work,” I tell them, as I head for the bathroom.
As of now, I have two confirmed mates, and I still work at Goldcrest Academy.
Everything else can wait.
Chapter Ninety-Four
Shayne
Ipull on yesterday’s crumpled clothes while Robin goes into the bathroom. Falcon goes into the other room, and I follow him out of the bedroom once I’m fully dressed.
I close the door, and Falcon looks up at me from the chair he’s sitting in while he puts on his boots. Something’s still bothering him, and I’m not sure he’s in a sharing kind of mood.
I go to the door and pick up my shoes, sitting down in the dining chair opposite his to get them unlaced and put them back on.
“So, what’s the plan?” I ask, as I undo the laces.
He snorts. “Plan?”
“You know, for making sure Lana doesn’t just kick us out for claiming someone under her guardianship without filing the right paperwork, or whatever.”
“She can try,” Falcon grumbles. “I’m not leaving Robin’s side for any reason.”
“Yeah, me either,” I agree, making him smile, even if it’s only for a second.
He finishes with his laces and sits up straight, stretching his neck.
The mark he let Robin put there, in plain sight, is all new and shiny.
I’m a little jealous that it’s the first mark he has that’s in a visible place.
Even though I’ve got a matching mark from our new mate, I wish we’d thought about renewing our own marks too. Those are still hidden, and maybe that’s how Falcon wants to keep them.
“We’ll see how this goes. You might need to talk to your brother.”
“Huh?” I ask, realizing I wasn’t paying that much attention when he started to speak.
“I said you might need to get your brother to talk to Lana if she decides to be unreasonable.”
