“Oh. Well, I can help you with that,” she says and goes to storm out.

I snap into action to stop her. “Zah, wait,” I say as I reach her and hold my hand against the door.

I dip my head and inhale her sweet scent. I can’t help placing a hand on her waist. The pull I feel to her is so strong, she has to feel it too.

“Wait for what?” she says without turning.

I slide my hand down the door until I reach her shoulder level and then place my palm on it. I turn her to face me and look down at her face. Her lips are so full and plump looking. They sit under the cutest nose I’ve ever seen. Her whiskey-brown eyes are so pretty with their oval shape and long lashes.

I lift my index finger and ghost the backside down the bridge of her nose. God, she’s gorgeous. I bite my lower lip and drop my gaze to her mouth.

“I’m not an asshole, Zah. I was taken by surprise earlier. I didn’t know it was you. I had no idea you were coming here.

“I was worried about you when you arrived here tonight. I wish you would have stayed home to rest.” I brush my thumb against her hairline, wiping away the beads of sweat that are starting to gather. I keep my eyes on the movement and swallow hard. “I’m sorry I hit you with that ball. I’ve been fucking this up all day.”

“Fucking what up?” she says and frowns.

“This,” I murmur and lean in to take her lips.

She gasps as I brush her lips with mine, allowing me to slip my tongue into her mouth. I slip my arm around her and tug her flush with my body. A deep groan leaves me as I deepen the kiss.

I reach for her neck and hold her in place as I explore her mouth with my tongue. Kissing her is better than I could have imagined. The deeper I kiss her, the more I want.

I feel like I’m high from her sweet mouth. When she slips her fingers into my hair, my restraint breaks. All thoughts of why this is wrong and why I can’t have her fly out the window.

I bend my legs to wrap my arms around her thighs and lift her up onto my waist. Neither one of us breaks the kiss as I pinher to the door while devouring her mouth. She whimpers as I palm her ass beneath the shirt I gave her.

“Bent, wait,” she breathes as she turns her face away from me.

“What’s wrong, baby?” I say against the side of her face.

“I don’t do cheaters. You have a girlfriend.”

I go to tell her Carly isn’t my girlfriend and I’m not seeing anyone else, but banging and shouting start on the other side of my door. I knit my brows and place Zah on her feet. When I tear the door open, a frazzled-looking Jason stands on the other side, shouting my name.

“What’s going on?”

“Bro, Carly is down there beating the shit out of your car with a baseball bat. She’s busted all the windows out,” he says quickly.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I snarl and take off out of the room.

My father just gave me that car as a birthday gift. That car costs more than Carly’s tuition. My dad works hard for our family.

That was a lot of money for him to put out on me with a second child just going to college and four more still at home. I’m fuming as I run out of the house to see what she’s done to my car. Campus security already has her in cuffs, but the damage is done.

“My fucking car,” I growl as I tug at my hair.

The hood is dented in, and all the windows are smashed out, including the sunroof. The door looks like she got to it too. Tears burn the backs of my eyes; it’s not the material item that hurts my heart. My dad was so proud when he handed the keys over.

Business wasn’t as great as he let on last year. Mom told me how hard he worked and how much he sacrificed to do this for me. I’m super close with my dad. This is going to break his heart.

“Are you fucking insane?” I roar.

“Fuck you. You better go after your new bitch,” she snarls back at me.

I turn to see what the fuck she’s talking about. Zah and Arlene are rushing into a vehicle up the block from the house. I clench my jaw and ball my fists at my sides.

“Zah,” I bellow. “Zah, stop. Wait.”
