Bacon furrowed his brow. “Little Owl?”
He towered over her by more than a foot, and despite their Dominant/submissive dynamic, she did not hesitate to meet his eyes as she looked up at him. “Lu is my friend, Sir.” The way she spoke, it made me think the concept of ‘friendship’ or even having a friend was new to her. “I don’t need to be her bodyguard. I’d protect her regardless.” She turned to me. “So thank you for the offer, Paniolo. But my answer is ‘no’.”
I raised my eyebrows up. “As her friend, you won’t go everywhere with her. As her bodyguard, you would. That’s what I need. I need someone—preferably a woman—whocango everywhere with her, just like you did at the spa this afternoon.”
Holly looked confused. She glanced between Bacon and me before cocking her head to the side. “She’s my friend,” the woman repeated, like she thought I was an utter moron. “Of course, I would go everywhere with her and kill anyone who tries to touch her.”
The rest of the wedding went by smoothly. I cleaned up, as did Lu, but she left her blood-speckled sarong and bra on. She looked fucking incredible. Fierce. I was hard as a rock, and extremely impatient to be inside her.
The ti leaf lei she’d put on me earlier had fallen off when I’d run from the beach. We collected that and retook our places after the ambulance and police left. I noted that Tangaloa had disappeared, but didn’t pay much attention to it. Someone mentioned he’d gone to the hospital to check on Beetle. The Prospect was still on my shit list, but slightly less so than KD. Iwouldgo see him.
But later. Nothing would stop me from marrying Lu today. Not Beetle getting shot and not Lu’s attempted kidnapping.
After we exchanged leis, I took her hands in mine. She had a rectangular bandage across each palm to help keep sand out of her scrapes. Same with the ones on her knees. Beyond that, she was unscathed. Still wouldn’t save her surviving kidnapper’s life.
You scraped my Lu? I’ll skin you alive, motherfucker.
Lucifer placed themaile leiaround our hands while chanting theAloha Oliagain in the traditionalPili a Nai Kealohaceremony. It symbolized binding Lu and I together.
Even as happy as Lu was to be back at the altar with me, I could still see she was shaken from what happened in the bathroom. I held our bound hands up to my lips and kissed her knuckles. “Kinky. I’ll have to fuck you later like this.”
Lu’s dark eyes widened, and arousal seeped into her features. “I’m in.”
Hell yeah, she was. My Lu was fucking perfect, horniness and all. I turned to Lucifer. “Are you done yet?”
My club’s Chaplin blinked at me. “You haven’t said your vows?—”
“Yeah, yeah. I promise to love her, fuck her, and take care of her in sickness and health,” I replied in an impatient rush. “What’s next?”
Lucifer glanced to the table where I noticed for the first time that he had a cheat sheet of the order of traditions for our wedding. “Um, Lu, do you?—”
“She does,” I interrupted. “I do too.”
Lu bit her lip, feigning offense. “Do I not get a say in this?”
I wrapped my hand around her neck, pulling her flush against my chest. “No,” I growled down at her.
She laughed, sending vibrations through the palm of my hand. Fuck, I loved that sound. She turned her head over my hand, looking to Lucifer. “Probably best to skip the rest.”
He glanced between her and the list a few times. “Do you still plan on dancing the hula?”
My dick twitched. As much as I needed to be back inside her, I wanted to see mywahinedance for me. Traditionally the bride danced for the groom, but I also had a special surprise for her too.
Lu’s dark, almond eyes met mine again as she answered, “Inside.” She brought her hands up to trail along my abs above the knot of my sarong. With only the thin material covering me, there was no hiding the effect she had on my body.
And I had no intention of hiding it. I wanted the world to see what she did to me, the claim she had over me.
I nipped at her nose. “Marry us,” I threatened Lucifer in a low menacing voice, “or take a one-way boat ride with me.”
Even with the interruption, and some extra cash slipped their way the restaurant had everything set up and moving on time. My camera crew and the restaurant’s employees had been shoved into the walk-in freezer. From what they overheard, Lu’s kidnappers realized she was coming in early and alone—except for Beetle—and wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to grab her. They had been dressed as employees to try to blend inand grab her during the reception. Their impulsive actions had been their downfall.
The surviving kidnapper was now hogtied in the freezer. The twins were guarding him, and it was their job to ensure that he didn’t die in there. I didn’t care if he had frostbite, so long as he was able to talk tomorrow. I wasn’t wasting any more of my wedding day on that sack of shark food.
I didn’t know when my sister, Kalea, had left with Pualani, but they were nowhere to be seen after the ceremony. Tangaola must be at the hospital with Beetle or something, because he had disappeared too. Kayl was summoned to another call, even though he’d been planning on attending the reception all along. Bacon made sure Caroline and Samantha left following the ceremony, assigning Mouse, Barnacle, and Doodles to guard them until the club got home.
I was only aware of these facts because they were told to Lu, and I hadn’t let her out of my grasp since we’d officially been declared man and wife.
We only posed for a couple of pictures. Mostly because I scared the photographer by glaring at him when he suggested I let go of Lu so he could get some solo pictures of her. Fucker nearly pissed his pants as he scurried away.
