Thrusting my tongue in time with my cock, she whines and keens through our kisses. She rubs herself against me frantically, the sign she is close to coming. Moving one hand between us, I circle my thumb around her clit until her channel clenches my cock, making the already tight squeeze a challenge to push through. In just a few more strokes she falls apart around me with a scream muffled by my mouth, as I use both my tongue and my cock to invade her.

The rhythmic pulsing of her channel pushes me into my own orgasm. The warm, incredible release of it starts in my cock, spreading low in my abdomen until it rushes through the rest of my body. Returning my hand to her hip, I gather her close so I can empty myself as deep inside her channel as possible.

Even after my orgasm is over, I continue to slowly grind into her hot, soft depth, luxuriating in the feeling of being inside her. “Was that good for you, my ember?” I ask.

“So good. Exactly what I needed,” she says with a dreamy sigh.

Ada’s violet eyes sparkle in the morning sun. She turns fully toward me from her side of the bed, her head still on her pillow with her gorgeous long dark red hair spilling out behind her. I tuck a piece of her white streak from her forehead behind her ear. She grabs my hand and holds it with both of hers between us.

“I haven’t felt this good in a long time,” she murmurs in a voice full of wonder.

“You look good, too,” I joke lightly, waggling my eyebrows.

“Even right now with bed head and bad breath?” she questions with a delicate snort.

“I always think so. You are the most beautiful sight in the world,” I tell her truthfully, staring into her captivating eyes.

She giggles as she whispers, “Static charge my messy hair and stick straight up in the air.”

Immediately her hair puffs out, like a wild red cloud. She scrunches her face and sticks out her tongue, as if this goofy look would change my opinion at all. I chuckle as I attempt to smooth it down, but the strands repel away from my hovering hand, a wave rippling and parting her outrageous hair with each movement. She cackles as I draw patterns in the air to see how fast I can make her unruly strands move.

“Static, static, go away, come again another day.” Her smile is contagious as she voices her counter-spell, and her hair gentlyfalls to her pillow and over her face. As she combs her hair out of her face, her giggling gives way to sniffling. The happy smile on her face falls. “I can’t believe my magick is restored.” Her voice wobbles. “I felt so different without it. Like I was living a half-life.” Her breath stutters and tears gather at the corners of her eyes.

“You do seem more like yourself again,” I say reverently. Intertwining our hands again, I bring them to my mouth to kiss hers.

“When I lost my magick, I lost everything. It was the only thing I had left.” Her brittle voice struggles between her sobs.

“You have so much. You always have. Now your magick is back for good. And so am I if you will have me,” I whisper.

“What if this is a fluke? And I wake up tomorrow without it? What if I wake up one day without you?” Her uncertainty breaks my heart.

“That will never happen again. Both your magick and I are here to stay. Not even a fae can change that,” I answer.

“But what’s here for you? Why is this time any different?” she quavers, watching me through her wet lashes, tears still streaking onto her pillow.

“I am different. But I do not want to just tell you in words. I will work every day to show that to you,” I pledge.

“But I don’t need anyone to take care of me anymore. My life will return to normal,” she rasps.

“Just because you can survive without it, does not mean I should not support you, pitch in whenever I am able, make you feel valued and loved. I liked helping around the house, Ada. I loved cooking for you. I will continue doing that even now that you have recovered.”

Her breathing starts to even out. She scrubs the tears from her face and then stares into my eyes again. With a wet huff of laughter, she says, “Some of it will be a breeze again with mymagick, but I won’t turn down anything you want to do. Thank you.” She kisses my hands the same way I kissed hers.

We lay there for a few minutes while her tears subside. “I should check on all the enchantments in the house today. And the fountain. Moon and stars, I miss the ritual of it. I can’t wait to get back into the swing of my normal life again.” Her wistful tone convinces me her mood is lifting again.

“It is more than that, Ada, I want to be there for you, always. For everything. To love each other and live our lives together as mates. Build the life we dreamed about. The one I thought I ruined fifteen years ago.” It only skims the surface of all I have planned. Of all the ways I will show her I love her.

“I want that with you too. My life was missing something vital without you. I’m looking forward to the future in the way I haven’t been able to in a long time.” Her voice is soft, but sure. I cup her jaw in my hands and bring my lips to hers. Our kisses are slow and unhurried, like we have a lifetime for it.

My phone vibrates, interrupting us. “You should see who that is. It might be important,” she murmurs between kisses.

When I reach for it on the nightstand, a text from Niven pops on the screen. “Niven asks if you could stop by the clinic today for a final checkup. Then I need to meet him at the Constabulary station one last time,” I say as I scan the message.

“This is finally it?” she asks, sounding hopeful. She still does not want to hear about the fae, so I omit the details.

“This is it. All of this will be over and behind us. Completely. And then we will celebrate.”

When we arrive at the clinic a little while later, Thea and one of the other healers in attendance yesterday scan her with their healing magick. Both agree the fae spell is still truly gone and she is in perfect health. They cannot stop smiling the entire time.
