I am Carolina Armas, Executive Director of X-Stream TV. Our sponsor and a few of us from the network will be arriving tomorrow to get set up for the big event. We expect to find you and the rest of the Paradise Bay staff ready for us.
You’ll note I’ve copied Vincent St. Pierre. He is the showrunner/director of the World Bartending Championships TV show. What we love about Vincent is his undying passion for each project he takes on, his attention to detail, and his inability to take no for an answer when he knows there IS a way to accomplish something. You’ll be working closely with him throughout the coming weeks.
Vincent, please follow up with the scheduled events for Nora, so she can begin sourcing what is required.
Regards,
Carolina
P.S. You’ll note I’ve marked this email urgent. In the future, all emails from this address or Vincent’s should be treated as such.

Hello Nora,
As Carolina mentioned, I am the showrunner and director, which means I control everything to do with filming the events. (BIG JOB. BIG.) I am employed by the network, not the International Bartenders Association which provides rules and judges for the competition. That is a separate group.
As our point person at the resort, I need you to be available to me at all times, but I also require that you stay out of our way. Anything I write/tell you is strictly confidential and is not to be shared with anyone outside of resort staff, and even then only as needed. Do NOT share the details with resort staff, only the duties they must perform. This is of the utmost importance, as we don’t want any of the contestants gaining an edge over others.
We will start with the top nine competitors from around the globe (as was previously determined by the regional semi-finals held by the IBA). Two contestants will be sent home in episodes one and two, then one per episode until the final episode. We will film three episodes the first week and two the next, for a grand total of two weeks of filming at the resort, including a few days for atmosphere shots using our drones, etc.
The episodes are as follows:
1) Speed Pouring and Free Pouring Accuracy Challenges (two separate challenges, two losers going home)
2) Memory Challenge (one challenge, two losers leaving)
3) Storytelling Challenge (one challenge, one loser)
4) Flair Pouring Challenge (same)
5) Survivor Challenge Finale (featuring top three competitors, with one winner being awarded the title/prizes).
PLEASE NOTE: THIS LAST CHALLENGE IS LEVEL 5 SECRECY. Contestants will be expecting a Mystery Box Challenge, and we want something really exciting this year. We’re going to create a Survivor feel to the competition, and as such, we will be dropping the contestants off on a deserted island, where they must forage for ingredients. The crew will build fun tiki-style bars on the beach of said island, and after several hours of foraging/testing, the contestants will present their drinks to the judges.
For this to work, we will require power, water, and toilets, as well as food. We will also need an expert on the local flora on hand to provide advice on which plants are poisonous, etc. We trust you will be able to make this happen.
I look forward to meeting you and getting started.
Best,
Vincent St. Pierre

“Shit,” I mutter.
Oakley peers around her computer screen. “Something wrong already?”
Oh, you’d like that, wouldn’t you?“Nothing I can’t sort out,” I tell her with a phony smile that says “fuck off, you witch.”
