We finish the rest of the meal, and Ryder gets up to walk away, and the other guy jumps up.

“Can I talk to you?”

“Later, Mouse. I’ve gotta be somewhere.”

Ryder walks away, leaving us both looking after him, but when he looks back, he glares at me, and I glare right back. We’re caught in a stare-off, neither one of us wanting to give in, when John sits in Ryder’s seat. “So, gentlemen, you all ready for tomorrow?”

I turn and glare at him, looking confused. “Tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow.” He nods. “The reason you’re here, the track, the bikes, Mr Bartholomew. If you’re not taking this seriously, then—”

I frown. “Of course, sir. I’m here. I am taking this seriously. I just thought I was missing something, but yes, I’m ready.”

“Good. You need to make sure it counts. Later, gentlemen.”

He pushes up from the chair and leaves. I look around. Ryder’s nowhere to be seen, and when I look back across the table, the guys are gone. I spin around and can’t see either of them. I head to the bar. I’m sure I will see Ryder come back from there.

Chapter 27

I head to the room. I’m calling an early night as I really need to catch up on some sleep. I shove into the room and strip off. I slide in between the sheets and sigh. Ahh, it feels good, just to relax. There's a small tap at the door, and I think it’s Arch. Forgotten his key, perhaps, as he was out of it when we left. He was on another fucking planet.

I sigh as I open the door, and Mouse is standing there.

“Mouse?” What are you doing here?”

“I erm… I thought … do you want some company?”

“I was just going to sleep. Ya know, busy day tomorrow.”

“Oh, okay… I erm. I just thought…” He trails off.

I lean against the door frame, cross my legs and cross my arms.

I let my voice trail off, dropping to that gravel I love to use. “You thought what, Mouse? Huh we could fuck?” I grin down at him. “You want me to hold you down and fuck you into my bed, Mouse? Is that what you want. Do you want my hand marks on your hips from where I’ve pounded into you, my handprint on your arse from where I’ve spanked you and told you you’re such afucking good boy?” I lick my lips. His throat bobs, and he starts nodding.

“Yeah.” He breathes.

I step forward, lean down, and cup his cheek, sliding down and pinching his jaw, tilting his face towards mine. Leaning in so my breath flutters across his cheek, and my lips skate across his as I speak, “You want me to push you down so I can force my dick between those pretty, fucking lips of yours?”

I slide my thumb over his bottom lip. “You want me to fuck you so hard you can’t ride tomorrow? You want me to ride you harder than I ride my bike?”

“Yeah… I want all that. Please?”

I lick across his lips and up his face. I lean in and kiss him slowly at first and then more aggressively. He groans and writhes against me, and when I pull back, his lips are swollen. I could fuck him. It won’t affect my ability to ride, but it will make for a very uncomfortable day for him. If I want to win, I want to win on my merit, not the fact that someone has been fucked hard the night before and can’t ride to the best of their ability.

“Some other time, yeah, Mouse?”

I step back into the room, click the door shut, and stalk back to bed.

Chapter 28

We head down to the breakfast the next morning, and we all eat in silence. It’s a busy day today, and it’s about to become real that these people aren’t my friends and never will be, and if I do a good job, they won’t even be my teammates. In an ideal world, I will get this place, and I will be successful. Then, Father will see I am my own person and that I’m successful without the family name. It might have opened the door, but I stepped inside all on my own. And I will hold onto this as long as I can.

We walk into the changing room, and there is a bank of lockers with our equipment and uniforms in. We change and step out to find bikes lined up. They’re all identical, apart from the numbers on them, and they match our lockers. I go to grab mine, but John’s voice rings outstopping me and he makes us all walk the track first. I hate this bit; it's boring and pointless. I download all the tracks to my phone and go through them. I know this track. I don’t need to walk it.
