“I watch, Savannah.”
I take a sip and then set it down so I can get everything I need out of the fridge to make us breakfast, feeling his eyes on me, watching what I do. Mixing up the pancake batter, I place it down to start on the bacon, crisping it up at the stove.
I’m about to start on the pancakes when my cell buzzes on the counter.
Adrien Matthews: I had a great time last night. Let’s do it again.
I grimace at the text, not noticing that Killian can also see it.
“A great time, hm?” He says in a low dangerous tone, “Should you tell him, or should I?”
“Tell him what?”
“That he may have taken you on a date, but it was me who ended the night in your bed.” Killian presses his thumb to my bottom lip, “It was me on your tongue and in your cunt. My come trickling down your thigh and my fingerprints on your ass. We can take a picture if you like?” He lets my mouth go only to curl his finger under my chin, “Show him who you really belong to.”
His body presses me back against the counter.
“Did you have a good time?” He asks me.
“No.” I don’t lie, I can’t. Adrien isn’t Killian and he never will be.
“Good,” He growls, “Now text him back and tell him to fuck off.”
I nod and type out a message.
Me: I’m sorry, dinner was good, but this isn’t something I’d like to continue. Let me know how much I owe you for my half of the bill.
“Sorry?” Killian laughs with a shake of his head, “You’re not sorry, Savannah.”
“I’m trying to be nice,” I huff.
My phone buzzes with another text.
Adrien Matthews: Fuck you. Bitch.
My mouth drops open. Wow. That wasn’t what I was expecting at all.
Another text brightens my screen.
Adrien Matthews: You can pay the whole bill. Send me the money and thanks for wasting my fucking time.
“I’ll kill him.” Killian snatches my phone and starts to type.
“Killian!” I gasp, trying to get it back, “Stop.”
“No.” He snaps.
“Killian!” I try again to get my cell back, but he keeps it out of reach until he’s finished typing whatever it is and hits send. Only then does he give it back.
Me: Speak to my girl like that again and I’ll make sure you’re eating through a straw for the rest of your life. She won’t be paying you for the meal, be grateful she gave you even an hour of her time.
My eyes bug out, “Oh my god.”
The ticks beside the message turn blue, showing he’s read it.
I stare at Killian, but he isn’t fazed in the slightest as he stabs a fork into a piece of bacon and shoves it into his mouth. When he’s finished chewing, he gives me the biggest grin like what he did was a completely normal thing for someone to do.
I want to be mad at him, for bulldozing the situation like he’s done so many times before, for using violence as a way to solve problems but the way his face is still beaming at me, so damn pleased with himself, I can’t help but crack a smile.
