“Fuck,” I snap and end the call only to try again.
She doesn’t answer any of them and then her phone switches to not ringing at all. All I see is them, touching, kissing. Him with his hands on her skin, his mouth on hers.
Mine.
She is fucking mine.
I don’t say goodbye as I slip out the door and get into my car, hitting the gas the moment the engine has turned over so I can peel down the drive and onto the road.
It only takes me forty minutes to get back to the city and put the car in park on the side of the road outside of Savannah’s new place. She moved in yesterday without telling anyone, but the house is dark right now and her car is not in the driveway.
So, I sit and wait. I’ll wait all fucking night if I have to, but the moment she is home… it’s going to finally be game over.
Chapter Fifteen
“Alright,” I say awkwardly as I stand by my car, “Well thanks, I had a great time.”
Adrien steps closer, his hand coming up to cup the side of my face and immediately, I want to recoil. I don’t want his hands on me, in fact, I don’t want him near me at all. He’s a good-looking guy but he actually repulses me. I turn my face quickly to avoid his mouth and skip out of his hold.
I catch the anger on his face but I’m not sticking around for him to try that again. Hopefully he won’t call me again. I wave through the window and hit the gas, pulling into traffic which earns me several frustrated beeps from the oncoming cars.
The date was a bad idea. I should have taken Willow up on the invitation to go out tonight, but I wanted to see it through. But the whole evening I couldn’t stopthinking about Killian. His eyes, his touch… no number of dates with other men will purge him from my system.
Maybe I should just buy a couple of cats and be done with it. It certainly didn’t help that Adrien kept touching me, and not in a friendly way like a hand on the shoulder or back, but only legs, my hips or the top of my ass. My skin crawled with every brush of his hand.
I start to relax a little the closer I get to home and let out a breath when I finally pull into the driveway. I was able to get some boxes unpacked today before the date, but the house is still in disarray. I’ll need to make sure to turn the lights on when I get inside since I know there’s several boxes in the hallway that I’ll trip over otherwise.
Grabbing my purse and cell, I climb from the car and lock it before I head inside, reaching for the switch on the wall but before I can hit it, the front door opens behind me, and I’m suddenly crowded against the wall.
A hand is over my mouth in the next second, stifling the scream in my throat.
“Did you have fun on yourdate?” Killian’s voice sounds right at my ear, venom coating every word.
He releases me and steps away, so I quickly slap my hand on the light switch, illuminating us both. His anger is a living breathing thing in the room with us, brows turned down to form a crease between them and the heat burning in his eyes scorches me.
“Killian,” I breathe his name, heart racing.
His jaw ticks as his eyes roam down me, taking in the dress I chose for the evening and then he steps closer, lifting his hand to run the very tips of his fingers down my bare arm. Goosebumps rise on my skin with the touch, my spine tingling.
“Did he touch you like this, Savannah?” He rasps, following the path his fingers take.
I can’t find my words, lost in this tense space with him.
His hand whispers a path up to my shoulder, then my neck where he pauses at the pulse thumping wildly in my throat and then to my jaw and across to my bottom lip. His thump presses down into it, forcing my mouth to part a little.
“Did he kiss these lips, Savannah?” He asks.
I shake my head.
Dragging his finger across my lip, he smears the red lipstick I had applied and then his fingers are at the straps of my dress, lifting the thin material off my shoulder.
“How about your dress?” He flicks his eyes to mine, “Did he take this off of you?”
“No, Killian,” I tell him on a breath, my heart thudding so hard I hear it inside my ears.
“Good,” He growls, pulling the strap down my arm, “ButI amgoing to take it off you now.”
“What?” I gasp.
