We were dating, right? I mean he kissed me in front of everyone last night, he didn’t hide his affection, if anything he seemed stoked to be able to do it with everyone watching.

“Oh, you’re dating,” Olivia agrees, “I still want tothroat punch him though.”

Savvy whips her head to her with a gasp, “Why!? What did he do?”

Was it weird talking about this with Bast’s sister?

Savvy looks back to me, “He fucked up already? Why am I not surprised! That fucking idiot.”

“It’s not a big deal.”

“He ghosted her for a week.” Olivia clues her in.

Sighing, I hide behind my coffee mug. This isn’t why we were here!

But I suppose talking about me might make Savvy more comfortable talking about Killian, so I don’t stop it for now.

“He did what!?” Savvy gasps, horrified.

“Not a big deal,” I say, “We sorted it out.”

“Meaning he fucked her brains out and she forgave him.”

“Oli!” I chastise.

But Savannah shrugs, “I got used to hearing about my brothers sex life really quick.”

I flinch at that. It’s easy to forget his reputation sometimes.

“Shit, sorry,” she quickly says, “To be honest, I’ve never seen him like he is with you. Even when you two were just friends.”

I give her a small smile and nod, before I place my coffee down on the table. “I’m just going to come out and say it.” I feel Olivia’s wide eyes on me, “Are you and Killian…?” I leave the question hanging.

Her blue eyes widen, “What!? No.” Her lashes flutter rapidly as she opens and closes her mouth, “No, not at all. He’s Bast’s best friend, I could never. Why would you ask that? We’re just friends, we’ve always been friends. Nothing is happening.” It all comes out quickly, some of the words merging together and when she is finished, she sucks in a sharp breath, eyes wide like saucers.

And before either I or Olivia can talk, she’s speaking again.

“I mean, like he’s hot, and sweet and he takes care of me. But notlike that. He just, well he… I – we–” She huffs out a breath.

I blink at her with my eyebrows raised.

“Well shit,” Oli whistles, “You like him.”

Savannah gasps, “No!”

“Lies.” Oli laughs, “So many lies.”

“Shhh!” Savannah hisses, “Someone might hear.”

I glance around the near empty coffee shop, “Who?”

“I don’t know! But you know the guys, they see everything!”

“Does Killian know?” I ask.

“Know what?”

“That you want to be more than friends.”
