Sin is helping.
The sight fills me with fuzzy warmth and reminds me of that old saying, ‘couples who slay together, stay together.’
I’m sure I heard someone’s grandma say that once.
Sin presses against my back, and his lips drag across my neck. “If you kill her, I’m not sure I’ll be able to stop myself from fucking you in her blood,” he notes mildly, before biting the spot he loves to mark.
My breath catches as I picture Sin bathed in Mindy’s blood, his muscles rippling as he thrusts into me. It sends a shiver pulsing through me, and I pretend the ache between my legs doesn’t exist.
While I’m very tempted, I have other plans. If I’m going to let this woman live, I’m at least going to give her a permanent reminder that Sin is off limits.
Silver Reaper threads wrap around my wrist, reaching for the bracelet hidden beneath my skin.
Nothing happens.
I frown for a second before going rigid.
“What is it?” Sin asks.
“My bracelet. You know, the one I’m borrowing? It’s gone,” I answer, trying to sound more casual than I feel.
Was I just robbed?
“Wow! Mindy, I really like what you’ve done with your face.Hugeimprovement,” Arianna exclaims.
I glance over and find her standing just outside the doors, grinning like we’ve just taken up her favorite hobby.
She doesn’t bother asking what Mindy has done to piss me off, and I already know she won’t.
“Have you seen Magnus by any chance? Him, Damien, and Varian went all crazy a second ago and stormed away before I could ask what was wrong,” she asks, looking down each end of the hall.
“Stop being nosy. Magnus can handle himself,” Sin says, instead of answering.
Arianna huffs, and the shadows in the room grow a fraction.
I give her an apologetic smile. “No, sorry. But I’ve been a bit distracted. Do you want help looking for them?” I ask, ignoring the person I have impaled against the wall.
The shadows pull back a bit, and Arianna sighs, “No, no, it’s okay,” she pauses, looking back at Mindy, “I never liked her. Did you want me to dispose of her?”
Turning back to the woman in question, I’m met with dark eyes that burn with the promise of murder.
I smile back brightly, the crackling power that was threatening to overtake me now mostly quieted. “It’s your lucky day, Mindy!”
There’s a bubbled gasp as I wrench the dagger from her throat. The injury immediately starts to heal, but instead of releasing her, I squeeze her cheeks, forcing her mouth open.
She immediately starts to struggle, only for red ropes to appear around her neck.
There isn’t an ounce of guilt in me when I meet her glare. “I could kill you, right now. But I’m going to let you live – not because I’m merciful. In fact, if you ever come near Sin again, it will be the last thing you do. No,” I note, breaking into a sweet smile. “I’m sending you with a message, since I assume there are more of you that he used to fuck. Now, stick out your tongue.”
When she doesn’t comply, I reach into her mouth and pull it out. Before she can blink, my dagger slices through the soft flesh, cutting out her tongue.
The dark urges inside me rejoice as she screams, more blood spilling down her dress.
Sin grips my hips, and I can feel him growing hard against me. Red light pulses in her mouth before the ropes holding her dissipate.
“I’m making sure it takes decades to grow back,” he purrs in my mind.
Mindy slumps against the wall, sobbing as she clutches her mouth.
