“He will be.”

“What if he’s with someone else?”

I grin. “He won’t be.” I open the door and get out. “I’ll call you tomorrow. Go lose yourself in your kitten.”

That changes the look in his eyes. They go all soft the way they only do for Ollie. “I will. Be careful. Call me if you need me.”

“Always, brother. Always.”

I walk away from the car and toward my pet.

Cillian doesn’t pull away until I’ve finished picking the lock and I’m safely inside.

There’s a small lamp on. Kat is passed out on the couch, but her eyes flutter open when she sees me. “Rory?”

“Yes.”

“Come here.” She takes my hand and tries to pull me to the couch with her.

“I’m here to fuck your son.”

“Why, when I’m right here?” she slurs, clearly on something.

I frown, pulling my hand free. I teased Shai about his mom before, but I don’t like the way she treats him, don’t like that she would sleep with me and not consider him. “Because I want him. Don’t make me dislike you, Kat. He’s a good son who takes care of you. I wouldn’t do the same if I were him.”

Her eyes flutter closed. I don’t know if she’ll remember this conversation, but I hope she does.

With a sigh, I cover her with a blanket, then turn out the light, the whole time wondering what the fuck I’m doing here.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Shai

Iflinch whenI feel something brush against my face, my arm shooting out to knock away whatever it is.

Rory laughs.

Jesus, this fucking guy. He’s just, what? Going to sneak into my house, into my room, any time he wants?

“You should know when someone is in your room with you.”

“I was sleeping, you bastard.” I flip on the lamp.

“So? I picked your lock, and your mom slept through it. She woke up when I was in the room, at least. I think she wants to fuck me, by the way. I told her I’m here for you.”

My spine stiffens. It doesn’t surprise me that my mom wants to sleep with Rory, but it does make the back of my neck burn in frustration. I give her fucking everything, would do anything for her. I just want this one thing that’s mine.

“Then I had to pick your bedroom lock too, and I’ve been watching you for ten minutes and you didn’t know,” Rory continues, oblivious to the war raging inside my head.

I rub my eyes. Rory isn’t mine, and I don’t want him to be, right?

“Well, maybe I’m not used to stalkers like you.”

“You should be prepared for anything, especially if you’regoing to spend time with me.”

He’s not wrong. “What are you doing here?”

“I killed some people tonight, and now I want to fuck.”
