“Hunter,” she whispers.

“Damn thankful.”

“This is C. He’s my VP.”

“Name’s Candyman,” the guy says, pointing to the patch on his cut. “Grift just doesn’t like calling me that. I tell him it’s not my fault the women all find me so sweet.”

“BB where is Dad?This is bullshit!” Izzy cries as she runs up to me, King following behind her.

I cock an eyebrow at my sister as I look at King. He shrugs. “Your dad wanted her home while all the bullshit was going on,” he said, not giving details since we’re not alone. He eyes Grifter and Candyman closely.

“King this is Grifter, he’s the new President of the KOA here in Tennessee.”

“Beau’s said good things about you,” King says, walking over and taking Grifter’s hand with a chin lift.

“Same,” Grifter responds, surprising me. I look at Beau and she just shrugs. “This is C. my second,” he adds.

“Seriously, BB! I want to speak to dad. I have finals coming up. I can’t afford this shit.”

“Izzy,” I growl. “There’s shit going down. Go on inside and Dad will explain it when he gets back with Ty.”

“I don’t have time to wait. I’ve already missed today’s classes. Do you have any idea how far back that will set me this time of year?”

“It’s better than being dead,” I snap. Izzy’s body jerks back as if I hit her. I rake my hand through my hair, not liking that I yelled at Izzy. I just don’t need her arguing over every little thing. I may be all about the club, but Izzy took the other extreme. She loves her family, but she doesn’t want to be part of the club. She’s going to the University of Kentucky to become a doctor. She’s at the top of her class. I knew she would be upset when Dad told me last night that he was going to bring her home until we figured out the exact source behind Robin. Robin hates Izzy, so it makes sense that she might lash out at her, too. So, even though I understand why my sister is so upset about being forced to come back home, I don’t disagree with Dad or Skull at all. I know she values her independence, but our main job is to keep the people we love safe.

“Hunter,” Beau whispers, when she looks at Izzy. I notice Izzy’s face has gone pale and I berate myself under my breath. Izzy’s forehead crinkles as she studies Beau.

“Hunter?” she says with a small grin.

“Izzy,” I nearly groan.

“It’s odd isn’t it, BB?”

“What’s odd?” I grumble, scrubbing my face with my hand in agitation.

“That Dad had them bring me here instead of the clubhouse. I mean itisa lockdown, right?”

“I imagine Dad will be back to get you. He’s at the school making sure Ty is safe, while I stay close to Beau.”

Her grin deepens. “You finally forgave him for being a dick, Beau?”

“Damn it, Izzy,” I growl.

Beau laughs, the sound like tinkling bells, spreading warmth inside of me. I look at her and she smiles, and I join her. “He’s slowly making progress,” Beau confirms.

“Yay! I have a new sister,” Izzy celebrates.

“What’s this about a lockdown? Is the club in trouble?” Grifter asks. I give him a look, pissed off he’d ask—even if I’d probably do the same. He immediately holds his hands up. “I’m just wondering so I can offer my club’s support if you need it.”

“Well,” I sigh. “It’s not so much a club thing as the bitch that used to be on the back of my bike causing issues,” I confess.

“Wait? My ass was dragged all the way here because of that bitch Robin?” Izzy hisses.

“It’s a nice ass,” Candyman puts in. I give him a look meant to shrivel his damn dick so he can’t use it around my sister. The bastard just gives me a cocky grin.

“Maybe the two of us can talk about an alliance while I’m here,” Grifter addresses King.

“I’d like that. The Blaze is in the process of rebuilding, but we’re getting there. I’m a firm believer that the more allies you have, the harder it is for enemies to attack. I have a wife and a baby girl, men and their families depending on me. I don’t take that honor lightly,” King says, not blinking as he looks Grifter in the eye.
