“He brought girls over?”I interrupted her.Straightening up, I kept the tub aside and asked, “How many?”

She shrugged.“I don’t keep tabs on him.As long as he stays safe… and doesn’t get anyone pregnant.”

Pregnant?

My eyes widened.“Oh.”

I didn’t know what else to say.My heart pounded fast, and I didn’t know why I felt my mouth going bitter.

“I’m worried about him,” she said softly, pursing her lips.“He was doing so well with his start-up and made a huge sale. But ever since then, he’s been… well, just… going out and doing?—”

“Maybe he’s just being a regular guy, you know?”I said, trying to ease the tension.“He could be hanging out with friends or… I don’t know what guys do?Go to the gym?”

She giggled, making me smile, and she squeezed my hand.“Dylan’s a good kid.I just hope he finds someone to settle down with soon.”

I nodded.“He is.”Despite his reckless charm, I knew he had a good head on his shoulders.

“I’d set you up with him if you weren’t?—”

“Haha!” I cut in with a loud laugh, ignoring the unfinished sentence, turning up the TV volume instead.“Did you hear him just say people who like pineapple on pizza are a huge red flag?”

Amanda soon forgot about what she was going to say, and I was glad I had gotten her distracted.I didn’t want to overthink her words. How she wanted to set me up with…no.

It couldn’t happen.

Itcan’thappen.

Maybe that was why I couldn’t sleep until I heard footsteps outside my room.

Along sigh escaped me the moment I stepped into my sister’s apartment. It was one in the morning, and I was counting on both Amanda and Katie to be asleep, saving me from the endless questions they would grill me with.

Well… not Katie. She’d either stare at me with judgment or walk away.

I ran a hand through my hair and headed to the kitchen, pulling open the fridge to gulp down cold water.

Was she asleep?Probably.

Would she hate me if she knew I spent the night as arm candy for some sweet lady celebrating her fiftieth birthday? Most probably.

I was about to drag myself to my room and pass out when a faint sound froze me.A low buzz.I turned back around, pressing my ear against Katie’s door and hearing the small buzz with her sweet moans.

Junior Dylan stood up with attention, and without thinking I knocked on her door.I took a step back and tried to wait patiently.I could hear her scrambling around the guest room that I had helped set up with my sister and?—

“Dylan,” Katie whispered. She seemed breathless, with a slight sheen of sweat on her neck.“Hi.”

I eyed her skew, baggy t-shirt and shorts. My gaze slowly drifted from her bare legs—admiring her cute mismatched socks—to the hard peaks of her nipples poking though the thin material and landing on her flushed cheeks. She looked everywhere but at me.

Oh, how I wonder, what she was doing.Humping a pillow?I’ll have to steal that pillow and…

“Why areyouawake so late?”I asked finally, shoving my hands in my pockets and trying to lean over her and see her bed.

But she moved quickly, shielding it with the door and her lithe frame.
