Large, warm hands cupped my cheeks. I blinked when he made me face him, his eyes soft and tone firm. “You don’t have to do anything, Princess. I will take care of everything.”
“Take care of it, how? Do you even know how dangerous they are?”
Sean kissed my nose. “I’m ordering you not to worry about it.”
He wasn’t taking it seriously.
“That will make me worry more.” I frowned. “Tell me how you’ll take care of it. I want to help.”
He shook his head. “If I tell you, then you’ll get hurt.”
“So your plan includes getting hurt?” I asked, shaking my head. “No. I’m not?—”
“Calm down, Princess,” he whispered, pulling me closer. “Remember when we first met? I promised to take care of you. Told you that you were safe with me.”
I knew I could trust Sean with my life. But these loan sharks seemed scary. They had already threatened my mom in front of her home, and now they were planning to hurt my dad if I didn’t give them more money.
“What are you planning?” I asked, my voice small.
His arms tightened around me. “Will you go to sleep if I tell you?”
“I will try,” I said honestly.
He sighed and pulling me down on the bed, he snuggled me, my back pressing against his chest. “You know Cillian is also ex-military?”
“Mhmm.” I had briefly talked to Emma and remembered how she had a bodyguard in high-school while she was being stalked. I wasn’t close friends with her back then since we had a different social circle, but I remembered Cillian scaring away all the boys from her in a class with just one glare.
“His friend works in a private firm for security, and my parents own half of that firm,” he said, his warm breath fanning over my neck.
I turned to look at him. He had said it so casually. “Your parents own half of...” I trailed off, looking at his face. Sean seemed sincere. He wasn’t joking?
Jesus, who exactly is he?
“We know where those loan sharks are, and tomorrow, they will get arrested. You don’t have to worry about anything.”
I frowned, playing with his long fingers that were entwined with my hand. “How did you catch them?”
“It’s a secret.”
I bit his finger and asked, “But my dad. What if they threaten him and he?—”
Sean pressed me closer, my eyes widening when I felt a familiar thickness bumping on my lower back. “Princess,” he whispered, his deep voice making my stomach warm. “Your dad is safe. But if you keep overthinking, I might have to fuck you to sleep.”
I swallowed, knowing he had already done that. When I didn’t reply, he sighed and kissed my cheek. “Good girl, go to sleep.”
Chewing my bottom lip, I squeezed his hand and said, “What if you get hurt, Sean?”
“I won’t.” His voice was firm.
I turned around, facing his glittering dark eyes. The nightstand lamp gave a warm glow to his face, his long lashes making shadows on his cheek.
“Pinky promise?” I asked, raising my right pinky finger.
Sean smiled, raising his hand with his pinky out. “Pinky promise.”
I followed through, entwining our pinkies together. I glared at him and said, “If you get hurt, I’m punishing you.”
“Yes, Princess.” He kissed my forehead, “I won’t let anything happen to my fingers and cock or you will?—”
