“I don’t trust this building,”Sean scowled, glaring at the apartment building I lived in.

I unclipped my seatbelt and turned to look at him. It was the next day, and he had been very affectionate. He had cooked bacons and eggs for me and even made me ginger tea, which helped with my cramps. He had googled that.

No man had ever made an effort to care for me, and his actions and words were affecting me.

We need to talk about our relationship.

My jaw clenched thinking about that text. It would be so easy to ask him about it, and I would know who she was and what she meant. But I was scared. I didn’t want to ruin everything by asking about it.

He must have seen her message by now, but he wasn’t acting differently, so it must have been nothing.

Ithadto be.

“It’s fine. Rory is still living here,” I said and took the paper-bag where he had put my dress, and other clothes. I was wearing the ‘Pound My Cake Daddy’ tee and jeans I had left at his penthouse when I was in a hurry.

He sighed. “I still don’t trust it.” He glanced at me and pulled me closer to kiss my lips. Unlike the night before, that kiss was small and sweet. “When will I see you again?”

I blinked and pursed my lips. “I’m not sure.” I wasn’t lying. I still felt confused by our relationship. If he just wanted to be my sugar daddy, why was he being so tender and affectionate? My ex-boyfriends had never cared for me like this. Not even my own dad. So why was he being so nice?

I wished he had just been a perverted sugar daddy, wanting me for my body so that he wouldn’t confuse me. At least then I would know what he wanted was my body.

“I’ll call you in the evening,” he promised, kissing my forehead.

“Okay.”

“And if you don’t pick up, I’ll get mad,” Sean said, his hands cupping my cheek.

“Mad? You?” I asked, biting back a grin. I couldn’t imagine him getting angry.Ever. He had been rough with me, but I had never once felt that he was angry and mad at me.

Sean scoffed. “Of course, I’ll get mad if my pretty Princess won’t answer my call.”

I rolled my eyes at him. He got out of the car and opened the passenger door for me. He leaned down to brush his lips against mine before pulling away with a small smile. Stay calm, heart. He’s just a hot sugar daddy. I swallowed and waved him goodbye before walking towards the elevator.

My phone rang, and I answered it without looking at the caller ID. “Hello?”

“Good girl,” Sean’s voice purred through the phone. “I was just checking if you’ll answer my call or not.”

My cheeks felt warm. I looked over my shoulder to find him leaning on his expensive car and grinning at me. I shook my head and answered, “Bye, Grandpa.”

He narrowed his eyes. “You’re gonna pay for that, Princess.”

I hung up, but heard his chuckle. My stomach felt warm even though I felt confused by our relationship.

I liked him.

I liked my Sugar Daddy.

My eyes glanced at the phone placed on the conference table. It dinged with a notification, and I quickly picked it up to check if she had sent me any message. A frown appeared between my brow. It wasn’t from Chelsea.

But Liza, my ex fiancée.
