“Yes, my lord.” The groom turned on his heel.

“Wait!” Alexandra called.

“What is it?” Lucien asked, wondering if he would have to kidnap her again to get her to the church, after all.

“Vincent, please see that Shakespeare is tended to. We will return shortly.”

“Yes, Miss Gallant.”

“Yes, Lady Kilcairn,” Lucien corrected sternly.

The groom grinned and bowed. “Yes, Lady Kilcairn.”

Alexandra eyed Lucien as he carried her toward the front steps. “Not quite yet, Lucien. Don’t jinx anything.”

“You’re not getting away from me again, Alexandra.”

She twined her arms around his neck. “I don’t want to escape any longer,” she whispered, then kissed him. “I’m home now.”

He kissed her back. “And so am I.”
