I dig my fingers into his ass, spurring him on, our rhythm becoming frantic. Death was breathing down our necks, threatening to come for us all tomorrow, but tonight. Tonight, I let myself feel alive.

I cry out as my orgasm comes crashing down, alighting my entire body and exploding out of my toes.

Lukas grunts as my pussy squirts around him, making him lose himself to his orgasm. Filling me up with his hard thrusts as he gives into his release. He collapses on top of me in a sweaty heap, kissing my sweaty forehead.

“Let’s get you cleaned up and tucked in for bed.” He says, pulling me to standing. I can feel our mixed release sliding down my inner thighs as I hobble out of the tent over to the showers, blanket covering all the important bits. I push the thoughts of the incoming battle from my mind and enjoy the feel of chilly water over my skin.

“Aren’t you going to wash that off? “ I ask Lukas as he stares at me while I wash.

“Nah, I want to keep it. Don’t worry, I’ll clean up my cock, but this?” he gestures to his chest. “This stays for tomorrow. I want a part of you on me.”

I don’t know if I should be flattered or grossed out. I decide both are acceptable as I towel myself off.

“I love your crazy ass, Lukas.” Taking his face in my hands I kiss his lips with a satisfied smile.

“If anyone so much as looks at you tomorrow, they’ll meet their demise from the tip of my blade. Your enemy is my enemy, angel. You’re mine. My love. My fucking soul. I’ll defend that until my last breath.”

I shudder, grasping onto his hands. “Let’s hope that it doesn’t come to that.”

Chapter Fifty-Eight

PIERCE

SONG: COME UNDONE BY BAD OMENS

Idrink a pint of tepid ale as we sit around the campfire, swallowing the bitter liquid. It feels like a lifetime ago that I’d been chugging beers at our frat parties. Drowning out the demon’s voice that threatened to control me, worried about my father’s disapproval.

Hades had just informed us of our parent’s deaths, and I didn’t know what to feel. Lukas had stalked off, unfazed by the news. It seems that the rest of us are struggling with the bomb that he dropped on us, though. He’d found them holed up in our fraternity house, conspiring with Persephone and Chaos.

Walker picks at his callouses, peeling the puckered skin from his hands. “Fuck. At least we don’t have to worry about them trading our bodies for money anymore.” He says.

I let out a laugh, “You make us sound like prostitutes.”

He raises his scared eyebrow. “We did get royally fucked over by them.”

“It doesn’t feel real.” Emmet says shaking his head.

“Let’s raise our glasses for a final goodbye to those pieces of shits. They sucked, but they helped make us who we are.” Graham says, raising his glass. It glints in the firelight.

“Yeah, alright.” I say, reluctantly raising my glass with his. The rest of the guys and Salem, slowly join in.

“To our dead dads. May we never be like them.” Graham declares drinking down the rest of his alcohol.

“Cheers.” We say in unison, finishing off our drinks as well.

“We should get some sleep.” Salem says with a distant look in her eyes. I want to push all her worries away from her mind and consume them for myself, just so she doesn’t have to look like that.

I follow her into our tent, bedrolls covering the ground. Salem crawls into the middle one looking up at us, beneath her heavy lids. “Are you sure you want to do this?” Salem asks as she worries her bottom lip into her mouth.

“Do what, princess?” I ask, plopping down beside her.

“Go into battle. Fight against literal trained demons. You guys lost your dads because of mine. You trust my judgement that much?”

I flick the end of her nose. “I trust that if I were stabbed with a sword tomorrow, you’d find your way to me and move heaven and earth to sew me back together.”

She rolls her eyes. “Don’t joke about that. I’m fucking terrified to lose you again. Any of you.”
