“I’ve already seen it all, no need to cover up that perfect body in front of me.”
I scoff, clutching the blanket even tighter. “You’re a pig.”
“Actually, I’m a demon.” Pride sneers down at me, his gleaming fangs twinkle as he runs his long tongue over them.
“Why are you here, demon?” I glare up at the imposing figure, mustering up my backbone and every bit of sass that I possess.
“Must be awfully frustrating to feel so out of control. And without that power you’ve just gotten used to? Tsk. Such a shame.” He drags his long finger across my collarbone, and I smack it away, heart racing. The dregs of my orgasm cling to my body and that small touch alights my simmering desire into a raging inferno, which fills me with even more anger. How dare this demon come in here, manipulating my emotions, dangling the information I so desperately seek like a carrot in front of a horse.
“Tell me your purpose here or get out.” I’m practically seething. My body in a state of confusion, both exasperated and turned on.
Pride smirks, and in that moment, it reminds me so much of Pierce, how he gets under my skin. Alarm bells go off in my mind. This demonknowsme. Knows what makes me tick and how to get me to submit, just like Pierce does. Suddenly, I don’t care that my power is near nonexistent. I leap off the bed, shoving his muscular body with every bit of strength I can muster, and I scoop up a metallic shard. I manage to catch him by surprise, holding the shard up to his pulsating jugular. If this demon had been taking better notes, he would have known never to underestimate me.
“Fine. I came to warn you, but figured I would have some fun with you for old time’s sake.” Pride’s throat swallows hard.
“Warn me about what?”
“The demon that was possessing you. He’s quite the powerful being and has Hades believing his version of events. If you want to see your little Pierce again, you might need your other… boyfriends, to tell their stories of how they were possessed.”
“Why can’t you tell your version? Your friend Greed also warned Garrison. What’s with the cryptic messages from you Sins? How am I supposed to believe anything you say? Why are you even telling me this?
“Ah, little witch, so many questions and not enough time.” I forgot all about the demon’s tail, and see it flicker in my periphery before it knocks my hand back. The shard flying from my clasped hand, nicking my flesh. I let out a hiss.
“Now, I’ve told you all I can little princess. But you’re wise not to trust us. We live to torment and tease.”
Pride disappears in a cloud of black smoke. Leaving me gaping after where he had just been standing, shivering alone and naked in my room.

Chapter Fifteen
WALKER
SONG: TWISTED BY TWO FEET
Aknock startles me out of a deep sleep. The sheets are tangled in my legs, made sticky by the light sweat coating my body. It’s fucking hot down here. Scrambling, I right myself and manage to pad the short distance to the door. Sleep clings to my lashes, making it hard to make out the shape waiting for me outside of my room. “Salem?”
She shoves her way in past the guards who look as dumbstruck by her as I feel.
I close the heavy door behind me and rub my face. “What’s up, wildcat?”
She paces the small room. Her sleep shorts cling to her body, leaving nothing to the imagination. It takes everything in me not to rip them off and help her calm down. She works a hangnail on her thumb as she walks.
“Salem. Stop. You’re starting to freak me out. Just sit down and talk to me about it.”
“I just came on a demon’s face.”
I stare stunned, not knowing what to say to that. Jealousy flares in my chest, as I work my jaw, teeth grinding so I don’t start screaming at her, but I’m more worried about her.
“Elaborate.” I manage to growl out. You’d think the demon of Wrath was still lodged inside of me with the amount of anger that’s coating my entire body right now.
She shoves her hands into her wild dark hair. “I was asleep and then… I thought one of you had snuck in.” She tucks her hands under her sides, crossing her arms across her chest like she wants to disappear into herself. “It was Pride. And that fucking demon was using me, manipulating me. He said he came to warn me, but I don’t know what I can trust down here. He left saying that demons live to tease and torment, whatever that means.” She flops down onto the bed. “I feel like I’m unraveling. Everything I’ve known to be true has been flipped on its head.”
“What was the warning?” I ask sitting next to her and grabbing onto her bare leg, wishing I can erase the touch of the demon from her skin.
“Something cryptic about the demon who possessed me. About you telling my father your version of how you became possessed. How, that might be the only way to free Pierce.” She sighs as tears gather in the corners of her eyes. “He looks terrible, Walker. Like he could die down here if we don’t get him out.”
“Then we get him out.”
