“I woke up down here again, but this time I found something.”

She stops just outside the cellar. The lights are turned on, illuminating a plume of dust that lingers in the air, cobwebs dance like there’s been a breeze that’s blown through here, making me frown.

She points to the corner. “There’s a hidden door down there that leads to what looks like it could be a tunnel. And as soon as I opened it, this stench filled the room and I swear I heard someone whisper, “He’s coming.” It freaked me out so bad that I closed the door back up.”

I let go of her hand and crouch down so I can fit inside the room. I run my hand along the wall and notice where the dust has been disturbed, highlighting a brick that’s slightly smaller than the rest.

“Don’t open it now! We don’t have flashlights and it’s the middle of the night. Let’s wait until morning.”

“Can’t you conjure us up some light with those magical fingers of yours?”

“Oh, right. I keep forgetting that I can do shit like that now.” She flicks her wrists, closing her eyes tight until a glow emanates from her palms.

“That’s so fucking cool.” I say, smiling at her in awe.

“Okay, I’m ready.” She says giving me a nod. “Push it.”

I press against the brick and hear the click of the wall opening to reveal the dark tunnel, and holy fuck she was not kidding about the stench.

I pull my shirt over my mouth and nose as Salem steps around to use the glow from her hands so we can see what’s in the tunnel.

“Are those… bones?” She asks looking down at the dirt ground inside the opening.

“Oh, my fuck, those ones look like they still have meat on them.” I say getting closer, going a few feet ahead of her. I take note of the maggots writhing over what looks like ribs. “Salem, bring that light over-.” I’m cut off by a large blur tackling me to the ground.

Teeth gnash at me, spraying spit across my face. I feel this thing’s hot breath as it struggles to get close to my neck, Salem screams as it tries to take a bite out of me. Rotten leathery flesh digs into my hands as I push this creature away from me and it lets out a yelp. The smell is overwhelming. I scramble back up to standing.

It’s on me in an instant, digging its claws into my back. I feel the blood ooze out of me as I wrench my body to the side, rolling away from its grasp. As I roll, a chunk of my skin is torn away from my back. I manage to sit up, watching in horror as it stalks closer to me. My back feels like it’s on fire. Blood drips down my back pooling on the floor.

“Absolutely fucking not.” Salem says, squaring up to the monster with her hands outstretched towards it. It tilts its head up at her, sniffing its deformed snout in her direction, while drool leaks from its jaw.

It stands hunched on its hind legs. Its horns grazing the top of the tunnel’s ceiling as it leers down at us.

Salem unleashes a stream of magic, hitting the beast square in the chest. It lets out an angry bellow, as if the magic did nothing but infuriate it. As it runs at her, Salem lets out another blast, this time wrapping a coil of light and shadows around the beast. I can tell it’s taking everything in her to hold the monster. I force myself to rise from the ground, and go to her, holding her around the middle.

“I can’t hold it. I need more power.” Sweat beads down her face and her light begins to sputter out, bringing the beast closer as it fights against her magic.

My flayed back drips blood soaking into what’s left of my tattered shirt. I glance back at the opening. We’re too far away from the door to make a run for it.

“Salem, spread your legs.”

“What?”

“Spread. Your. Motherfucking Legs. Now.”

She manages to open her legs and I shove my arm around her front, using what strength I have left to help hold her up while I circle my fingers outside her pajama bottoms, hoping I’m somewhere near her clit.

She realizes what I’m doing and adjusts her stance to help guide me. “I can’t believe this is happening right now.”

“Deal with it. It’s this or death.”

“Fuck! It’s working!” She yells as my fingers work her over. We stare down this monster that would happily eat every last piece of us, and yet here we are. Me with my hand working Salem into an orgasm so she can send this thing back to where it came from.

“I got it!” She yells, wrenching herself away from me as she turns the rope into a stream of fire, incinerating the beast in an instant. The heat from the blast hits me, making me slam my already beaten up back into the dirt wall.

“Fuck. Remind me not to piss you off.” I say, sliding down the wall. She grabs me, helping me to remain upright.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here, in case there’s any more of whatever the hell that was.”
