And I spent every moment since wondering if she tasted the same.

Her hands grab my waist and pull me closer until my raging hard cock lines up with her center.

She sucks in a breath.

I don’t wait another second.

I need to taste her.

My mouth crashes into hers, but instead of meeting soft lips, I hit her teeth. Cat pushes me away, covers her mouth with her hand, and lets out an “ow!”

“Shit,” I lean closer to look at her bruised lips. “Are you okay? That wasn’t…”

The front door clicks and swings open. I turn to put Cat behind me.

“Knock, knock!” a cheerful voice calls out. “Ryker?”

Cat slides off the stool to stand beside me.

Fuck.

“Good evening!” Evelyn Kavanaugh strides into the kitchen area. “I knew Ryker was here, but I didn’t know he brought - company.”

Cat frowns at me, then looks back at Evelyn. “Catalina Saber.”

Evelyn looks between the two of us then shakes Cat’s hand. “Evelyn Kavanaugh, I’m…”

“A good friend,” I glare at Ev.

Her eyebrows go up. “You could say that. Wearegood friends. Nice to meet you, Catalina. How do you know each other?”

“We work together,” Cat shrugs.

“Work together. Oh,” Ev’s eyes widen, and a grin spreads out on her face. “Yes! Saber!”

“We’re on a case for the Marshals,” I warn Ev, hoping she’ll understand to keep her mouth shut. “Can’t talk about it.”

“He’s always been like this,” Ev slaps my shoulder. “So tight-lipped. About - everything.”

Cat glances between the two of us. “Right. Well, I’m going to hit the sack. We have a big day ahead of us. Evelyn, nice to meet you. Thanks for letting us stay here. Ryker. Be ready to leave at eight.”

She turns on her heel and silently stalks upstairs.

Evelyn turns to me when we hear the door shut to the guest room. “Saber? As in SaberSecurity- or the Saber you’ve been looking for?”

“Second one,” I begin clearing the plates.

“I can see why you’ve been looking so hard,” Ev’s eyebrow quirks.

“Stop,” I place my hands on the island. “Not like that.”

“Coulda fooled me,” she chuckles. “I could swear I walked in on something.”

“You walked in on me being an ass,” I sigh and go back to loading the dishwasher. “You barely missed me slamming my face into hers.”

“Smooth,” Ev joins me in the cleanup. “So, she doesn’t know who you are?”

I shake my head. None of them knew who I was. By design.
