“Excuse me,” the man’s deep voice chilled her to the bones. She’d know that voice anywhere. She heard it in her dreams and her nightmares.

Cam didn’t want to look up into the royal blue eyes of the man who got away, but she couldn’t help herself.

She glanced up.

Aaron Pearce gasped when he caught a glimpse of her face. “Camellia?”

Cam was about to say something when a much younger woman on Aaron’s arm poked him in the ribs. “Who’s this? Do you know this woman?”

His arm candy looked half his age. The twenty-something woman had light mocha-colored skin, shoulder-length black hair, and gorgeous blue eyes. Plus, she stood about an inch or two taller than Cam.

That man always did have a type, Cam thought ruefully.

Cam cleared her throat and lowered her voice. “Wrong woman, Sparky.”

Before Aaron Pearce could grab her arm, Cam slipped back into the shadows of Flamingo Cove and out of his life a second time.

Aaron stared after her retreating back.

The woman next to Aaron tugged his arm. “Who was that, Daddy?”

Aaron, lost in a fog of memories, shook his head. “Nobody. That was nobody.”
