“Ah,” I nod as if this makes any fucking sense.

The adrenaline surge is long gone, and I plop to the ground with a thud. “I think I’ll sit down for a bit.”

“Hey, y’all! Mind getting me out of the fucking car?” Cat yells from inside the wreckage.

“Wait a minute, Cat,” Aaron shouts in her direction. “You gonna tell me what just happened? Who is this Ryan… person?”

I sigh.

I’m so tired. I need rest.

And this is not how I envisioned telling Aaron.

I fall backward onto the ground and throw up some jazz hands. “Surprise! It’s a boy!”
