The crack in the door of my soul pulled wide-ass open, and those walls tumbled with barely a sound. “Jesus, Cal,” I breathed and leaned closer to plant a simple kiss on his lips. “Yes, I’m gay.”
“Like, fully? You don’t like girls?”
“God, you’re cute, Princess.” I kissed him again and straightened. “Yes, completely gay. I’ve no interest in females at all. You think you’re bi?”
He shrugged. “Undecided. I dunno if guys do it for me, just you.” He winced. “Okay, maybe another guy, sort of, but really just you.”
“What guy?” I snapped too quickly.
He grinned. “Jealous?”
I scoffed and tried to move off him again, but he held firm.
“Don’t go,” he said softly, almost shyly.
I stared at him, uncertain of his tone. What was this? What was happening right now, right here? I hardly knew myself at this moment and certainly didn’t have the sense to know anything else.
“Please? You’re always runnin’ from me. Don’t this time. Okay?”
I nodded, but before I could respond—apologize or confess, I didn’t know—Ty barked a laugh from far too close. I scrambled off Cal as he grabbed his bag and hustled for the bathroom. I raced across the room, putting my clothes back in place as I went and thanking the builder for making this cabin so small. The shower had just turned on, me situated on my bed, a second before Nick and Ty entered the cabin. Ty flipped the light on, immediately seeking me with his eyes.
Nick shouldered past him. “You just layin’ here in the dark?”
“Fuck yeah, I’m beat. Those kids wore me out.”
Nick chuckled.
Ty eyed the crumpled blankets on Cal’s bed, the bathroom door, then grinned at me. “I’ve got a feeling you’ll sleep good tonight.”
“Only if you keep that fuck hole you call a mouth shut.”
Nick face-planted on his bed but chuckled softly. “Y’all are funny.”
Ty slapped my foot, a silent “You good?” in his raised brows.
I nodded.
Cal and I had more to talk about, more to admit, but for now, I was better, much better.

Morning, Princess.
…
This princess can be a bitch.
If Sasha so much as breathes near you, you better let me know.
Dipshit
Calm down, sheesh.
I’m serious.
