No words form on my tongue, causing Lizzy to smell the air, then pump her eyebrows.
Fucking sexth sense.
EVERLEE–MERMAID POWER
Myfingersarenervouslyfumbling with the strings on my bathing suit and I can’t for the life of me get the fucking knot to stay. What am I? A fucking three-year-old? “Shit. I can’t get this fucking tied.”
“Enjoying a pleasant swim?” Lizzy asks, stepping on the deck just in front of Tony and mother.
Callum and I just look at her and she smells the air, then pumps her eyebrows.
Great. Add this to the list of things she can give me shit about.
I move to the side of the pool and stand there casually while Callum swims to the other end.
“Nice swim darling?” Mother says, walking across the deck to stand on the same side of the pool as me.
“Yea. I was getting hot on the beach, so I thought I'd get some laps in.” As I’m saying the words, the waves caused by Callum’s little swim to the other end of the pool shifts the strings on my bottoms and I feel them slowly start to slide down my leg. Trying to stop the inevitable pussy moon - I don’t know what you would call it- I press my hip to the side of the pool, hoping to pin my bathing suit against it to prevent it from falling.
But it doesn’t work.
It continues to slide down and land by my ankles.
My gaze shoots to Lizzy, who sees the bright pink bottoms down around my ankles and then to Callum, who is at the other end of the pool licking his lips like the feral beast he is and I swear his gaze alone makes me hot.
Mother, fortunately, being on the same side of the pool as me near the door, can’t see anything below my breasts, which fortunately are covered by my top.
“Maybe I’ll join you for a swim,” Mother says, walking towards me.
“Dude! I totally beat you,” Knox yells over his shoulder, running up the boardwalk before stopping to look at everyone. His eyes go from me, to my mother, back to me, then down to my bottoms lying on the pool floor. “Well, hello.” He pumps his eyebrows.
My face flushes red and my tongue presses into the side of my cheek as I shake my head. “Delightful walk?” I ask, trying to sound as casual as possible.
Callum makes laps in the pool, swimming from side to side and I can’t understand why he’s doing it, but he should stop. My bathing suit swishes back and forth at my feet and I’m scared it will just swish right into the middle of the pool.
“You boys should jump into the pool and cool off!” Mother chimes.
“I would love to get in there,” Knox says, stepping forward.
“What’s going on people?” Beckett asks as his eyes move down my body to the floor of the pool. He screams out in a high-pitched squeal, clasping his hand to his mouth, then tries to regain his composure. “Sorry. I thought I saw a bee.”
“Becks. They are more scared of you. You are huge,” Mother scolds.
“You’re right, mom. I just forget sometimes.” His cool gaze settles on my face. “Whatcha doing, sis?”
My tongue runs across my teeth. “Just going for a swim. I got hot on the beach.”
“I bet you did.”
“Come on and join us Becks,” Mother says, walking towards the ladder.
“Wait!” Beckett yells as Knox jumps in, splashing everyone.
“What Becks?”
“I think I got a scrape on my foot. Can you look at it?”
“You are a grown man.”
