I’m spiraling.

My whole body feels like a piece of ice that’s been dropped into a volcano.

Hey G buddy.

Fucking help me.

Shit.

Amen.

No. Too late.

Amen should have been said before the shit, not after.

“Everlee?” Jax asks, moving to put his hand on my back, but pulls away.

Soul crushing ache.

I want to reach out and touch him. Them.

AMEN!

GODDAMMIT!

“Beckett,” I grit through clenched teeth, trying to maintain any level of calm and cool. “Can you please help me with something outside?”

He tilts his head to the side. “Can one of them help?” he says, pointing to my guys.

My lips flatten into a hard line. “No. They can’t.”

Will nods and pushes him along. “Go outside and help your sister.”

“But I don’t wanna,” he whines.

I have half a mind to snatch him by his ear and drag him outside.

“Beckett. Go help your sister,” our mother urges.

He sighs and starts walking towards me, but I point to the front of the house. I don’t need her to see me yelling at him through the glass on the back wall.

“Lizzy.”

She perks right up, with a combination of pity and fear in her eyes.

“Please introduce my mother to… our friends.”

Friends.

I’m going to fucking murder my brother.

Just as the front door closes, he holds his hands up. “Ev.”

“Don’t you fucking say one word to me!”

His lips pinch together.

“What in the fuck were you thinking?”
