I look over at him and smile, placing my hand on his thigh. He grabs it, interlacing his fingers in mine and squeezes, then looks up to Lizzy. “Noise canceling headphones. Good call. I should have brought mine.”
Her gaze narrows at him, knowing that he was making a dig at how loud she is.
“I figured I’d need them as much as you all fuck.”
My eyes bulge out of my head and I do a quick survey to see if anyone heard. Fortunately, it’s not a huge flight with a lot of people and of those people, they have their heads buried in their phones.
“Lizzy.”
“Oh, shush.” She bats her hand at me. “It’s the truth.”
“What took you so long to get here?” Emmett says, trying to change the topic.
I had to get a pat down. Tony’s gaze shifts quickly between all the guys.
“Why?” I ask cautiously.
A large smile spreads across her face. “Nip nip inspired me.”
“Oh geez.”
“Who?” Knox asks, confused. Jax and Callum have moved on from the conversation.
Emmett moves to her side, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. “Go on. Tell me how I’ve inspired you.”
“You know about nip nip?” She looks at him, shocked.
“Of course he does,” I say, turning to her. “We don’t keep things from one another, unlike you, apparently.”
“Oh stop. I was going to tell you last night, but you were… ahem… busy.”
Ignoring her, I press. “Why did you get your nipple pierced right before vacation?”
“I wasn’t thinking about that…”
“Obviously.”
“We were at-” she stops talking and looks at the guys, then continues slowly, “out. And I was on that post…” she looks at the guys again, then continues, “outhigh. Found a piercing shop, went in and got ‘er done.”
She was talking about Allure, but was following the rules in front of the guys.
“You know you aren’t supposed to get in the pool or ocean now, right? Not until it’s healed,” Emmett says, removing his arm from her shoulder.
“Shut the back door!”
He cocks his head, staring at her. I love how he doesn’t question it, or her, rather accepts it. His face hasn’t gotten the memo though, because it’s still twisted.
I place my hand on his forearm. “She thinks we’re a bunch of ass loving heathens, so she says back door because of…” I roll my hands in the air to finish the rest of my sentence.
“Makes sense.”
“You get me,” she says, patting him on the chest.
BOARDING FOR GROUP ONE,the voice calls over the loudspeaker.
We’re group two, so we break from our conversation and grab our bags. Poor Tony finally just got his breath back from lugging their two suitcases across the airport.
“What seat are you?” I ask Lizzy.
