His eyes squint at me, then he reaches over Everlee and lets his hand fall across my back. I do the same, reaching over Everlee and holding him as well. This is perfect. We are perfect.
I don’t know what this means, but I can’t wait to find out.
Jax is finally letting down his walls with me, and I couldn’t be more excited. And it’s all thanks to Everlee.
“I love you,” I whisper against her skin before I give her a kiss. She doesn’t hear me because she’s passed out. Her breath is deep and heavy and she looks like a beautiful angel.
EVERLEE - WHAT A WEEK
Theshakingofthebed wakes me up sometime later. I really tried not to fall asleep, but damn it. Orgasms are like my melatonin. Take more than four and out you go.
When I roll over, the bed is empty, but still warm, and I hear the shower running in the bathroom.
When I push the door open, I find Emmett and Jax in the shower and my heart swells.
“Come on Ev,” Emmett encourages.
“I don’t think there’s enough room.” There really wasn’t. It was a standard size shower and those two men were taking up nearly every inch.
“There is always room for you, love.” Jax tosses out his arm and gives me a nod, encouraging me to come over.
“I’m looking at us and looking at the shower. There is no room. It’s ok though.”
Jax rinses the shampoo out of his hair and steps out of the shower. “I’m done.”
“Jax.” I frown.
“I am. Promise. But I will stay and watch you two.” He pumps his eyebrows at us. He plants a quick peck on Emmett’s lips before he steps out of the shower, then walks over to me and cups both of my cheeks in his hands and places his forehead against mine. “I love you.”
His words feel like there is more weight to them than just the usual I love you. I didn’t want to push so soon, but I feel like what happened earlier is the beginning of something new. A new chapter in our lives. The fact they were in here taking a shower together when I walked in is a testament to that.
Fifteen minutes later, the three of us are walking down the stairs at the same time Lizzy and Tony are walking in from the beach. Her hair is a mess and there’s sand all in it.
“Pleasant walk?” I nod and pull at my hair.
“Fuck me,” Lizzy groans. “I was attacked by privates.”
“Do you mean pirates?”
“That’s what I said.”
“You said privates.”
“Well, that too.” She winks and bats her hand over her shoulder as she walks upstairs.
“Hurry up, Captain Hooker!”
“Why do I have to be the hooker?” Tony whines, following her like a love drunk puppy.
“Have you seen yourself? Clearly, if one of us was going to hooker and one was going to pimp… I would be the natural pimp.” Their door closes and a second later Lizzy is screaming and laughing.
“Well, then. It’s our last night here.” I frown, looking around.
“Did you have a wonderful vacation?” Emmett asks, sliding his arms around me and resting his chin on my shoulder.
“I did. Definitely didn’t go as expected with my mom showing up, but in some ways I’m glad she did. She got a chance to meet all of you and then…meetall of you. Hopefully, once she tells dad, she’ll still be cool with it.”
“I’m glad your parents know about us. I know that was hard for you,” Emmett says, spinning me in his arms and pushing my hair behind my face. He stares at me, his eyes holding mine like there’s so much he wants to say but doesn’t know where to start.
