“No ifs. I will not wear a potato sack to make you feel better. Trust me when I say I only have eyes for my guys and no one else. Plus, between Lizzy and Beckett… they’re like two Rottweilers by my side. No one is getting close to me.”
I pull her hands down and grip the back of her neck, bringing her lips to mine. “You’re damn straight.”
She looks up at me, her eyes twinkling, “You mean compared to my brother?” She laughs. “Straight. I’m straight… he’s gay…”
I can’t with her. “Get.” I point to the door.
She gives me a quick peck on the lips before she heads to the door. She flips up her tutu, showing me her ass just before the door closes and my fists clench. It’s taking everything in me to not chase her down, rip off that fucking fabric and bend her over this desk and make her come around my cock. I take a deep breath, then look at Emmett. “You watch her tonight.”
“Nooo. Any job but that,” he teases.
I push past him and walk out to the club. I glance at their table and Lizzy offers me a thumbs up like that’s supposed to be encouraging. Everlee’s talking to Will and Beckett, no doubt telling them what the drama was all about. I usually try to stay away from anything one could call drama but her. Ugh! Wait until Callum sees that outfit. He’ll lose his shit.
“Our girl is smokin’ tonight. Have you seen her?” Knox bounces up behind me a few minutes later.
I simply cut my eyes at him.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he whispers, holding his hands up and backing away.
How in the hell am I supposed to concentrate when I know she’s walking around wearing… ugh. My cock twitches and I want to spank it. Not spank like codeword for jack it off or rub one out. No. Literally spank it for reacting like that. I know it’s an extension of me and what I want, but clearly, we aren’t synched up and jiving right now. Because he should not be getting hard thinking about her.
I smile as a wicked thought crosses my mind. Perhaps we could have her dress up in this outfit and take her to Infernus. I’ve always wanted to hunt a unicorn.
“Why are you smiling? What’s wrong? Who did you hurt?” Callum asks, walking up.
“Shut up. You make me out to be some apathetic asshole.”
“You said it, not me.”
My lips twist. “I was just thinking about taking Everlee to Infernus wearing the outfit she has on.”
He looks over his shoulder and I realize he hasn’t seen her until just now. He takes a step, so I grab his arm. “Stop. It’s a wasted effort.”
“Wasted?” His blue eyes have turned from crystals to flames as his fingers clutch the hem of his jacket.
“I’ve already pulled her into the office and read her the riot act. She, of course, bucked and essentially told me to fuck off.”
“Sounds like our girl,” he says, blowing out a breath, realizing I’m right and confronting her will do nothing.
“Lizzy and Beckett won’t let anyone near her, and Emmett’s watching her tonight as well.”
“While he runs the bar?”
I shrug. “I’m also watching her. I swear. If one person so much as looks at her the wrong way, I’m serving them their fucking eyes on a platter.”
“That may not be good for business.” He looks over at me with a cool glance.
“Fuck the business. It’s Everlee.”
Callum stares at me without speaking for a moment. “You know. If you told her how you feel, maybe you wouldn’t be so stressed.”
“I’m not stressed. I’m great.”
He lets out a low chuckle. “Brother. You’ve been more stressed in these last few weeks than I’ve seen you in years. Do you need to see Rhonda again?”
“My therapist? No. I’m good.”
“Do you know why you haven’t told Everlee you love her? Because I know you do.”
