“No. The cameras pulse and watch the social areas to ensure all are behaving. The rooms are recording but are not actively being monitored with eyes until exit is called the first time. They assess the situation and determine if you are saying it in conversation or if you need assistance.” She clasps her hands together. “I think that’s everything. If you need more, please feel free to also call out Sammie three times and I’ll be here as soon as I can.”

“Thank you,” Emmett says. He’s been quiet most of the night, so I would be curious to get his thoughts on everything, too.

We walk into the room and all stand there for a second, taking everything in.

“I expected woods or something,” Everlee says.

“There’s another set of doors over here,” Emmett calls from across the room. He opens them, then closes them quickly.

“What is it?” Everlee shouts, running over to him. He blocks the door and won’t let her open the handles. “Let me see,” she whines.

“Not yet.”

She tries to pull his arm away, but it’s futile. He’s too strong for her. She’s like a kitten hanging on the arm of a gorilla.

Not. Going. To. Happen.

She leaps on him and tries to crawl over his shoulders, but Jax runs over and grabs her around the waist, pulling her off. She’s kicking and screaming and laughing. “I don’t want to hurt you,” she warns through laughter.

“Oh baby. You can’t.”

“I’m a black belt, lest ye forget?”

“Ne, I forget not.”

Jax carries her over to the bed and throws her down, but she springs off it and runs back over to Emmett. “What’s in there?”

“Jax and Knox’s wet dream, that’s what.”

“Ooh now I want to see,” I chime in, walking over, but he doesn’t move.

“What are you doing?” Callum asks.

“I’m thinking.”

“About what?” I ask, holding my arm out to grab Everlee and spin her in front of me, wrapping her in my arms. “Hold tight, babe. We’ll get you in there,” I whisper into her ear.

Her body relaxes in my arms, her hands holding onto my forearms, as her head lays back on my shoulder. “Should we team up and take him?”

She’s spunky and full of energy, and so turned on right now. It’s rolling off of her in waves and electrifying the room. Or maybe it’s just me.

“I’m going to let you in. Calm down, Trouble. I just… there’s an opportunity to make it fun.”

“It’s woods, isn’t it?” I ask, and the expression on Emmett’s face is all the answer I need.

“Have you ever been hunted?” I whisper to Everlee. Goosebumps erupt over her arms, and she turns to look at me, her eyes wide with excitement.

“No.”

“Do you want to be?”

She looks around at all the guys. “Let’s make it interesting.”

“A wager?” Jax asks, surprised.

“You realize you're going against two SEALs,” I remind her.

“So, are you scared you’re going to lose?” She taunts, nibbling on her finger.
