“Yes. You are ours. We are us,” Callum says.

Knox claps loudly. “I’m getting us all shirts made that say that! You are ours, we are us!”

“Seriously. Shut the fuck up.” Jax splashes water at him.

The heat of the water is making my heart race, or possibly it’s Callum’s words, so I push out of the water and sit on the edge again. “I don’t know how you boys withstand the heat.”

“I work in a kitchen,” Emmett teases.

“Wait, are you saying… are you saying, if you can’t stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen?” Knox asks, pushing out of the water sitting beside me and waves his hand at Jax. “I know, I know. You don’t have to say it. Shut the fuck up.” He rolls his eyes and presses his palms onto the edge of the hot tub.

Without thinking about it, I lick my lips.

“Insatiable,” Knox says, winking at me.

I shrug. “And to answer your question. Yes. I would love to be part of the process.”

What I didn’t want to be part of was the conversation with Lizzy when I tell her I’ve gone from wanting to possibly take a class and visit it to having a shared ownership. Is that what it would be? Would I be part owner? I guess not, since I wouldn’t be putting up any finances. Would I be working there for free? The more I think about this, the more questions I have.

The bubbles cut off and the guys climb out. Emmett grabs a few towels from under the cabinet in the outdoor kitchen and tosses them at us. While I’m bending over to dry my legs off, I feel a towel whip on my bare ass.

When I pop up, Knox is running away laughing with his towel between his legs like it's a broom horse.

“I’ll get you!”

“I can’t wait, love!”

Emmett, Callum, and I grab all the dishes on the table and carry them downstairs, while Jax opens all the doors.

Emmett and I wash the dishes and clean up the kitchen and decide we’re going to completely veg the rest of the day and watch movies on the couch.

EVERLEE – SHUT THE BACK DOOR

Therestoftheweekend passed with little excitement. Emmett and I watched movies all morning and afternoon. Callum and the others joined us around lunchtime and made some sandwiches, so we had a makeshift picnic. It was the best day I think I’ve had in my entire life, but that’s how it’s been lately. Every day is literally better than the last, which I don’t know how that’s possible, but it keeps happening.

Work has been fine, same as usual. Meetings and reports, reports and meetings. I’d be lying if I said, since our initial miscommunication fiasco about the Shibari and the club, I hadn’t wondered what it would be like to work there. I know when it was mentioned about my boss and how I could work at both was all confusion, but now… what would it be like?

I laugh. Am I really considering leaving my comfy corporate job to work at a sex club?

No… right?

This is your boo calling. Pick up the phone.

This is your boo calling. Pick up the phone.

Lizzy!

“You changed my ringtone again?” I ask as soon as the call connects.

“I would’ve thought you learned after the last time not to leave your phone around me. I’m getting quite good at it now.”

“Lizzy,” I groan.

“You should be thanking me. That was the second option. The first was… well, I don’t want to tell you. I may use it again in the future.”

“You won’t.”

“Never say never, darling.”
