“I don’t know how to top that, so I will try to match it. Lizzy is my equal, my love, my life. She is the wild and crazy to my calm and collected. She pushes me and I try to tame her. Some. A little. Ok, really not very much, but I do try, so I feel like I should get some credit for that.”

“You do babe. Get credit for trying.” She pats his chest.

“I love you, Lizzy. You aremyrock and the light inmylife. Before you, I wandered around alone and now I have a best friend for all of life’s crazy adventures and I can’t wait to figure out what they are and do life with you.” He gives her a big kiss, dipping her back.

“Wowzer,” she says. “Everyone, if you haven’t already, please find a seat and enjoy this delicious meal that my friend, owner and chef, and future Michelin award recipient, Emmett Monroe, has prepared for this evening. They are flights of all his best dishes and I can say that without even looking at the menu, because he is a master in the kitchen. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy and bon appétit.”

The servers come out and place dishes on the table with such rapid precision it’s mesmerizing to watch, like they’ve rehearsed it a thousand times. Moving this way and that, offloading trays of food. It’s almost like they’re robots on tracks the way they move, never bumping into anyone.

Our food is delivered and I grab a few of my favorites off the tray and see the one called The Lizzy. Just as I’m about to try it, she squeals out. She must have just realized it, because she’s standing from the table and stomping across the room to stand in front of Emmett. “You’re going to make me cry, asshole.”

He laughs.

“I mean that in the most affectionate way possible.”

“I know.” He picks up her hand and kisses her knuckles. “Enjoy love.”

She looks at me with her eyes set, and I know exactly what she’s saying. He’s a good one. A keeper. They all are. I nod and smile, taking a bite of ‘The Lizzy’.

“Can we sit here?” Betty asks walking up.

I nod, since my mouth is full, then quickly swallow and say, “Yes, yes, please sit.”

“Where’s your hot date?”

For a moment I panic, not knowing who she’s talking about since I’ve been bouncing between all the guys this evening.

“Callum,” she clarifies. “Did you forget who your date is?” She chuckles.

“She’s a lightweight and can’t hold her liquor very well. She forgets her own name at least once a week,” Beckett chimes in, covering for me.

I cut my eyes at him, but appreciate the help. “He’s around here somewhere. He’s part owner of this place, so I’m sure he’s making sure all goes off without a hitch.”

“Very good.” She pats Gerald’s arm. “I’ve been dying to come to this place for so long.”

“Everything is fantastic, and the way Emmett has prepared everything is even better. You get to sample all of his top items!”

She picks up the first sandwich and moans, holding onto the table for support. “Hello!”

We all chuckle.

“Watch out baby, I’m coming for you tonight!” She shifts from side to side in her seat.

“I should have brought her here sooner,” Gerald teases.

When I look across the room, I find my guys huddled in a corner talking and I desperately want to go to them, but that will come later tonight. Callum catches me looking and gives me a wink, then Emmett spots me and nods towards the sandwich in my hand. My eyes roll into the back of my head, to show him it’s so good.

Callum signs to me,Jax said you ran into a door earlier. Hope you’re feeling better. There’s no concern on his face, only a slight smirk.

It’s your fault.

He throws his head back, laughing.I’ll be your door tonight.

We’ll see.

His eyes grow larger and I can’t help but laugh. God, I love these men.
