EVERLEE – SHOULD HAVE WORN PANTIES

“Let’sgo, hooker!”Lizzyshouts, pulling me out of the front door.

“Calm down, it’s your party, so we can’t be late,” I huff, trying to slip my shoe on while being pulled out of my back door. “If you make me fall down these stairs, then we’ll definitely be late.” I laugh.

She sighs dramatically, like a toddler whose sucker just got taken away. “I’m just so excited!” She clasps her hands under her chin.

“I know you are boo!”

“Are you both ready?” Callum asks, standing beside the car door holding it open.

He has taken the role of chauffeur tonight because Brady is out for the next several weeks on some sort of mission with their friend Michael Dufrey. He said that he couldn’t really talk about it and wasn’t even sure how long he’d be gone, so who knows? It’s been a week and when I asked Jax this morning if he’d heard from him, his head fell to the side. Then he continued explaining how we wouldn’t hear from him until he’s back. It’s just the way these things go.

Jax was asked to go too, but declined this mission. Thank God! I don’t know if I could handle it. Having him out there, doing something dangerous, and not knowing if he’s ok. I couldn’t do it with any of my guys.

“Yes. Lizzy was taking forever getting ready,” I say, giving him a kiss before I climb into the car behind her.

He brushes his hand over my ass before he grabs my arm and pulls me back out with a scowl on his face.

I can’t help but smile, knowing exactly what he’s going to say.

“Everlee,” he lightly reprimands.

“Callum,” I repeat his name in the same tone, trying not to smile.

“You aren’t wearing underwear,” he growls. His eyes are like blue flames, narrowed on my face.

“I don’t know how this still surprises you after all this time.”

He shakes his head. “You’ll be punished for this later.”

A heat races through my body. “I hope so.” I wink and press my lips to the corner of his mouth before I climb into the backseat.

“Thank God you two stopped. I was going to need an underwear change.”

“Stop!” I smack her arm playfully.

“At least someone wears them,” Callum groans from the front.

Lizzy shoots me a glance before she fans herself.

She was radiant. Absolute perfection, wearing a cream-colored dress with off the shoulder sleeves, that glowed against her light brown skin. Her hair was pulled back into a bun with a white and pink flower tucked just off to the side. “You look beautiful,” I whisper to her.

She grabs my hands and I can feel the thin sheen of sweat on her palm. She’s nervous. “Thank you. I’m so glad you’re here with me.”

“Are you kidding? There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”

She doesn’t let my hand go, instead only grips it tighter. When we pull on the street for Bo’s, I feel her hand tighten briefly, before it relaxes, but still not releasing.

Her and Tony rented out the top floor for the party tonight and I don’t know if she’s more excited about the party or the fact it’s at Bo’s. She and Emmett are still ironing out the details on whether she can have her reception here. She had initially tried to get Vixen, but Tony and I talked her out of it. The only problem with Bo’s is that she wants a DJ and a dance floor, but Emmett’s not sure he can make it work within the space with enough tables to support her ever-growing list of invitees.

On nights he talks to her, he finds me at home and gives me extra long hugs. I imagine it’s because he wants to tell her no, but he’s trying to work it all out for me, even though I haven’t, nor would I ever ask him.

“I’m sorry Beckett couldn’t make it. Him and Will give their warmest wishes,” Lizzy sighs.

“Yea. If we had a date, before I knew they were coming up a few weeks ago, they could have waited. Two birds, one stone.”

“You mean two cocks, one mouth,” Lizzy cackles.
