“What if we all vote?” Knox asked, before his words fell to a whisper.
“Now is not the time to discuss this.” Jax said, his voice more stern, but still with a crack laced throughout.
“He’s right. We have the club these next couple of days, so it will be hard to see her.” I felt his gaze on me, so I pretended as best I could to maintain my steady, slow breathing and not let my eyelids flicker. I didn’t want them to know I heard this because I don’t think I was supposed to. “She’s just perfect.”
“You’re infatuated.”
“I don’t know. You know I never get attached, but she’s… the moment I saw her, I could tell.”
Jax must have given a look, because there was silence for a bit.
“We’ll see you tomorrow morning.” Callum said before walking away.
Unexpected Visitors
Ifeltlonely.
I shut down my computer and walked home. It was Friday. The weekend. I should be happy. Excited. But I wasn’t. I missed them. How stupid was I? It was only one night, but that one night was magical. I was still a little sore, but it only served as a reminder of what I wanted.
Them.
Lizzy called Thursday afternoon to get the download on the gala and the date with Callum. I told her as much as I could. Her favorite part was me telling off WendyDick and Callum swooping in and making Wendy’s panties wet. Probably Dick’s too if he was being honest with himself, because who wouldn’t get a hard on for Callum. He was perfect. Tall, dark, handsome. I felt my core tighten just thinking about him.
Lizzy, unfortunately, didn’t get engaged Wednesday. She said she was ok, and only kidding when she was talking about it, but I knew the truth. She wanted it, even if she wouldn’t let herself admit it. But in a way, I’m glad she didn’t, because there’s no way she would have had a long engagement. Being married has been the top of her priority list and since they’ve only been together for a couple months, I didn’t want her getting into a situation she’d potentially regret. I really liked Tony. I just wanted them to be together a little longer.
My phone dinged. Part of me hoped it was one of the guys, but it was Lizzy.
Bitch. Get your getup on and let’s go out. I’m thinking… VIXEN!
Ha. No.
What? Don’t you want to see him?
Yes. But I don’t want to be the needy girl showing up at his work.
Awkwardly sitting in a corner watching him.
Pretty sure that wouldn’t go over well. Stage five clinger.
I had a feeling this should probably be a phone call, but I was too lazy to make the transition. Which was stupid since it was only the push of a button.
Psshh. I’m thinking you go there and dance your heart out.
Make him jealous.
Show him he needs to LOCK. THIS. SHIT. DOWN.
Have I ever told you that you’re too much?
All the time. But you love me.
Yes, I do.
So?
I don’t know.
See you there at ten.
