“What’s that supposed to mean?”

She batted her hand. “Girl, you know. Now stop procrastinating and get to the good part.”

“After skating, he took me home where we… you know…”

“That’s it? That’s all I get?”

“Fine. He had another snack in the shower.”

Lizzy smacked the table loudly. “Three!” She lowered her voice. “Three times? I’m going to call him the Cookie Monster… shit. Nom, nom, nom is the name of the game with him. Shit!” she repeated.

“Well, we went back and forth and then we went to the bedroom.” Where three other guys watched.

“Let me guess? Nom Nom?”

“Yes, and then bang bang.” I shook my head again. It always sounded stupid when I tried to come up with cutesy little names for things.

“Big?”

“Huge. I’m so sore today.”

“Wow.” she breathed, looking into the air.

“But then after, he ran us a bath and washed me.”

Lizzy’s head hit the table dramatically. I’m sure from all the outbursts and movements she’s been making, fellow patrons were likely concerned for my safety.

“Everything ok over here?” A voice boomed behind me at the same time I felt a hand brush across my shoulder.

Lizzy tilted her head up, so her chin was resting on the table and once she saw who it was, cursed out a string of expletives and then sat up.

I looked up to find Callum’s gaze on me.

“What are you doing here?”

“Everlee? Don’t ask the man that. Offer to pull up a chair for him.”

Poor Lizzy. She was already invested in my relationship with a man I’d only be with for a few more days, likely. The pain at that realization stung real bad.

His brow furrowed as he studied my face. “Are you ok?” His knuckles brushed across my cheek.

I heard a loud sigh from Lizzy, who looked like she’d been love struck with Cupid’s arrow.

“I’m good.” My lips flattened. We both knew I wasn’t doing a good job of hiding anything and he could probably make two guesses to figure out what’s wrong.

“I didn’t mean to interrupt your lunch. I just wanted to say hello.”

I stared at him, causing him to wink back at me.

“You aren’t interrupting. We’re just getting caught up on girl chat.”

“I’m sure that’s what you’re doing.” His eyes twinkled knowingly.

I just pumped my eyebrows with an ‘I told you so’ glance.

“I’m going to grab a bite to eat, but I’d like to talk to you for a minute before you go back to work.”

“I’m sure you would… nom nom nom…” Lizzy mumbled.
