“You didn’t snore or anything like that.” He smiled.
I shrugged, brushing it off like it hadn’t just been a concern. I took the last bite of eggs and savored it because it was hands down the best I’d ever had.
“Well, thank you. You didn’t have to.”
He cocked his head to the side, but didn’t speak, and we just stared at each other. I noticed we did that a lot and I don’t know why. What was it about him that drew me to him? Why did he stare back at me?
The doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it!” Knox jumped up from the seat. He reminded me of a Labrador dog. Eager to serve and please and generally just a jovial guy. Quite the opposite of the cool and calculating Callum, and even different from the playful yet super skilled in the kitchen, Emmett. I still hadn’t figured out Jax yet, and probably never would, since this would likely be the last time I’d be here.
“This is the kitchen.” Knox said, waving his arm out talking to someone behind him.
Lizzy walked into view seconds later with her mouth on the floor. She made quick eye contact with me and mouthed ‘OMG’. I smiled, climbing off the stool and walked my plate around to the sink.
“If you tell me where your dishwasher is, I can put this in real quick.”
Emmett chuckled. “No dishwasher here. Just these hands.”
“You wash Callum’s dishes?” I asked, confused.
“Well, all the dishes.”
“You live here?”
He laughed. “Did you think I came just to cook you breakfast?”
My lips flattened and my cheeks blushed red. “You know… I really had no idea. This morning has been… a lot.”
Callum stood up and walked over to Lizzy, holding his hand out to shake. “Nice to meet you, Lizzy.”
“Thanks for taking care of my girl.” She said, her knees getting weak briefly.
“No problem at all.”
“Are you ready to leave?” I chimed in, interrupting Lizzy’s probable panty explosion.
“No. I mean yea, sure. You?”
I turned to Callum. “Thanks again. Emmett. Knox.” I nodded in their direction.
“No, you don’t. I’m a hugger.” Knox said, smiling and holding his arms out. I walked into them and they wrapped around me, holding me tight. He was such a good hugger, and he smelled fantastic. The start of a moan escaped before I caught myself.
He whispered in my ear. “Next time, don’t stop it.”
I felt a full body flush as my stomach tightened and clit throbbed. Panty slasher! The theme to Mortal Kombat played in my mind as a sword wielding Knox slashed through my panties, cutting them to shreds before he claimed me. His words echoed in my mind on repeat.
I placed my hand on his chest and gently pushed him away as his eyes locked with mine and a smirk crossed his lips.
I stepped out of his hug and walked over to Lizzy, who was trying to decipher my face. “See you later, trouble.” Emmett waved from the kitchen.
“I’ll walk you out.” Callum said.
“Thanks again for last night.” I said when we got to the door.
I felt Lizzy’s head snap in my direction, but I didn’t look at her.
I stretched up for a hug and Callum’s hand grazed across my lower back just under the lip of my shirt, setting fire to my skin. I heard him suck in a breath. Or maybe it was me. I felt my breast pressed against his hard chest and held it for a moment.
