“Thank you, sir. Ma’am.” He says something in a low voice to Liam and then he leaves, shutting the door behind him.

“Bedroom?” I say to Liam.

“Plural. Bedrooms. He assumed we were a couple, so he said one.”

“Oh.” I flush with heat. “Right. That would make sense.”

Shut up, Haley, for the love of God.

But apparently, my mouth doesn’t know how to stop. “Because, you know, we’re close in age. You’re thirty-something. I’m thirty.”

“Thirty-three.”

“What?”

“I’m thirty-three.”

“Oh.”

“You seem uncomfortable.”

“I do?”Probably because I want you but I must resist. “I’m okay.”

He frowns. “I’m sorry we have to share a suite. I promise I’ll stay in my room once we say goodnight. You can have the rest of the place to relax if you aren’t ready to sleep.”

“I’m not uncomfortable,” I assure him. “I’m very comfortable.” I wave my hand in the air.

“You don’t seem it.”

“How do you know what I’m feeling? We barely know each other.”

“You have tells.” He grins at me. “Everyone does. But I’m enjoying learning yours.”

Without another word, he picks up our bags and heads for the stairs.

“Wait!”

What tells has he figured out?

I hurry up the stairs after him.

“Let’s get you settled.” He stops in the hallway and gestures toward the two bedrooms that are on either side of a bathroom. “You can choose.”

The first bedroom I step into is gorgeous with a four-poster bed, white duvet, divine-looking pillows, and another incredible view of the city.

I fall backward onto the bed and let out a big sigh. “This is the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever laid on.”

When I glance up, Liam’s gaze is on me. He clears his throat before dropping my suitcase and purse gently onto the carpet.

“I’ll leave these here then.”

I sit up. “Let’s check out your room.”

The second room is similar to mine but the duvet is a pale green. Same amazing view from the windows.

Liam puts down his bag by the bed.

“Are you happy with this room?” I ask him.
